The health killers around us! What are the symptoms of depression?

As we all know, if you cannot guarantee your mental health, you will suffer from some mental illness due to psychological problems. Clinically, one of the most common mental illnesses is depression. Don't underestimate this disease, because once it is serious, it will deprive the patient of his life. What are the symptoms of depression?

1. Emotional symptoms:

Emotional symptoms are the most obvious and common symptoms of depression. The emotional symptoms of depressed patients mainly include two aspects: depressed mood and loss of interest. The life of a depressed patient seems to be full of helplessness and despair. If a depressed patient is asked to describe his mood, he will often say: "sad, helpless, despair, lonely, miserable, downcast, worthless, embarrassed, ashamed, gloomy, ashamed..." Although the basic emotion of depressed patients is depression, their mood, or their depressed mood, varies with time. Even within a day, it will change. Generally speaking, depressive symptoms are most pronounced in the morning, when patients often feel almost powerless to get out of bed. As the day progresses, the mood gradually improves, and the mood is relatively best in the evening. Another emotional symptom that is almost as common as depression is loss of interest: depressed patients often cannot experience the joy of life. Things that they used to be interested in and activities that they liked to participate in now do not interest them at all. The loss of interest often starts with certain activities, such as work. However, as the depressive symptoms develop, the patient gradually loses interest in almost everything.

2. Cognitive symptoms:

Cognitive symptoms are another major symptom of depression. They are mainly manifested in unwarranted self-blame, self-blame, exaggeration of one's shortcomings, minimization of one's strengths, and a kind of cognitive illogicality and unrealistic. Depressed patients always have a negative evaluation of themselves. This negative thinking casts a thick layer of gray over themselves and their future. Once a setback occurs, depressed patients will put all the blame on themselves. Some extremely depressed patients even believe that they should be responsible for the injustice and inequality in the world, and that they should be punished for their "sins."

3. Motivational symptoms:

The motivational symptoms of depressed patients are a lack of motivation to do anything. Different people have different motivation levels. Most people can get up on time in the morning, go to work or school on time, and actively find ways to entertain ourselves and others. However, for depressed patients, not to mention actively finding ways to entertain themselves, it is extremely difficult for them to start doing anything, and they need to make a huge struggle with themselves. Severely depressed patients will lie in bed with disheveled hair every day, not wanting to eat or drink all day, frowning, seldom talking, and even crying. Even if they move, their movements are obviously slow.

4. Physical symptoms:

The most hidden are the physical symptoms of depression. As depression develops, all biological and psychological pleasures are lost. Depressed patients often have a poor appetite. Even for those who usually love to eat, fine wine and delicious food cannot arouse their appetite. Depressed patients often become thin. There are also various problems with sleep. It is difficult to fall asleep at night and wake up early in the morning. Even if you fall asleep, the quality of sleep is very poor. With poor appetite and poor sleep, patients will gradually become weak and tired. The sex life of depressed patients will also be affected. Erectile dysfunction in men and sexual frigidity in women are common phenomena.
