What causes prostatitis in men?

The most common disease among men is prostatitis, which accounts for the largest number of cases in urology. Most of the patients are middle-aged men. Many people do not know the cause of prostatitis, and the patients themselves do not know that they have prostatitis. They usually find out about it in the later stages, and it is more laborious to treat it at this time. Here is the reason why this disease occurs.

Only a few patients have an acute history, and most of them present with chronic, recurrent course. The main pathogenic factors of type I (equivalent to acute bacterial prostatitis in traditional classification methods) and type II (equivalent to chronic bacterial prostatitis in traditional classification methods) prostatitis are pathogen infection, which invades the prostate with urine and causes infection.

Pathological anatomy confirms that prostatitis lesions are generally confined to the peripheral zone, where the glandular duct opens into the posterior urethra in the opposite direction to the vertical line of urine flow, which is prone to urine reflux, while the glandular ducts in the central zone and transitional zone run in the same direction as urine flow and are less likely to be infected. The pathogenesis of type III (chronic prostatitis/chronic pelvic pain syndrome) is unclear, and the etiology is very complex and widely debated.

Most scholars believe that the main causes may be pathogen infection, urination dysfunction, psychological factors, neuroendocrine factors, abnormal immune response, oxidative stress theory, lower urinary tract epithelial dysfunction, etc. Type IV (asymptomatic prostatitis, among which non-bacterial prostatitis is much more common than bacterial prostatitis) lacks research on the relevant pathogenesis, and may have some of the same causes and pathogenesis as type III.

Recent studies have also found that uric acid in urine not only stimulates the prostate, but can also precipitate into stones, block the gland ducts, and serve as a shelter for bacteria. These findings can explain that prostatitis syndrome is actually a common manifestation of multiple diseases, and the clinical manifestations are complex and varied, which can produce various complications or resolve on their own.

Many men worry about this disease. In fact, as long as you pay attention to personal hygiene, have regular eating habits, and exercise every day, the chance of getting sick will be reduced by more than half. As long as you have a healthy body, disease is no big deal.
