If male friends are infected with HPV and find that their symptoms are not so obvious after examination, they should adjust their mentality at this time. Although this disease is an incurable type, they should not give up on treatment. Only by actively cooperating with the doctor's treatment can there be a possibility of improvement. Most treatment methods include drug therapy, immunotherapy and laser therapy. Treatment (1) Physical therapy: The purpose is to remove visible tumors and subclinical infections Methods include: laser, microwave, freezing, electrocautery, surgical excision (LEEP knife in gynecology, etc.), photodynamic therapy, etc. (2) Drug treatment: 0.5% podophyllotoxin tincture, 5% imiquimod, 50% trichloroacetic acid, fluorouracil ointment, etc. (3) Immunotherapy aims to reduce recurrence and speed up the clearance of lesions. Drugs include: interferon, interleukin, thymosin, transfer factor, BCG, isotretinoin, autologous vaccine, etc. Therapeutic vaccines: There is currently no effective therapeutic vaccine. (1) Laser and electrocautery therapy: Applicable to most clinical situations, with accurate positioning and little damage to surrounding normal tissues. Disadvantages: The depth of treatment requires skilled operators to control, deep wounds heal slowly, especially in the genital area, wounds are prone to bleeding and infection, and smoke is easy to cause air pollution and iatrogenic infection, so strict personal protection is required. Therefore, it is not suitable for warts that are close to each other, are very numerous, or are huge. (2): Microwave therapy: It is also applicable to most clinical situations. It has accurate positioning, little damage to surrounding normal tissues, no bleeding and low recurrence rate, no smoke, and no air pollution. Disadvantages: The depth of treatment requires skilled operators to control, and the wound needs to be prevented from infection. It is not suitable for giant warts. (3) Cryotherapy: Suitable for single, small, flat lesions. Disadvantages: prone to recurrence and sometimes autologous implantation around the lesion. (4) Photodynamic therapy: It is more suitable for thin and tender areas of mucous membranes and skin tissues such as the urethral opening, vaginal wall, and vulva. Its advantages are safety, effectiveness, low recurrence rate (subclinical infection can be eliminated), no pain or mild pain, and good tolerance in patients. (5) Drug therapy: Podophyllum resin and other drugs are corrosive to a certain extent, and the surrounding normal tissues need to be protected, otherwise it is easy to form implants in the surrounding normal tissues. It is not suitable for the application of mucosal warts. Genital warts are difficult to identify, so it is not advisable for patients to take drugs on their own. Imiquimod cream is an external immunomodulator. Its advantages are that it is not very corrosive and can be used by patients themselves, which is convenient. Its disadvantages are that it requires at least 4-16 weeks of use, which is too time-consuming, is somewhat irritating, and can also cause superficial erosions on the skin. It is not recommended to rely solely on this drug for the treatment of large warts. |
