Paralysis means losing the ability to take care of oneself, which occurs in many diseases. Paralysis is mainly divided into two types, one is conscious paralysis and the other is unconscious. Moreover, the condition of paralysis is quite complicated. Some people are also accompanied by urinary incontinence. Whether conscious or not, nursing measures for male paralysis incontinence should be taken, otherwise it is easy to cause other complications.

1. Paralyzed patients spend most of their time in bed. Keeping the bed clean, dry, and flat is crucial to solving the problem of urination and defecation.

2. If the patient is conscious and can complain of the need to urinate or defecate, a flat bedpan can be used on the bed (male patients can use a urine pot). When defecating, the patient lies on his back, with a small sheet (or large diaper) placed on his buttocks to prevent contamination of the bedsheets. Lift the patient's buttocks and place the bedpan under the buttocks, with the flat end placed on the sacrum and coccyx, and the open end facing downward.

3. If the patient is not used to it at first, you can put a piece of straw paper on the vulva to prevent the quilt from getting dirty. If the patient has fecal incontinence, you can put a plastic sheet and a sheet on the bed, and then use an old cloth to cover the patient's buttocks, just like a baby's diaper, and change it in time. After each bowel movement, you need to clean the buttocks and apply some pine pollen (or talcum powder).

4. If you have urinary incontinence, you can cut a small round hole in the condom and connect the rubber tube to it. Put it on the penis and then stick it with tape. Insert the other end into the urine bottle and tie it to the bed. Shave the pubic hair and wash and dry the penis before use. When using it, always pay attention to the drainage tube and don't let it be pressed or twisted. The mouth of the tube should not be immersed in urine, but only about 3 cm below the bottle mouth. The urine in the urine bottle should be poured out frequently. Remove the condom, the rubber tube, and the urine bottle every day, wash and boil for 3 minutes.

5. If the patient is female with urinary incontinence, you can use a pacifier to align the urethra and fix it with tape. The other methods are the same as for male patients. Long-term use of a penis condom (pacifier) can easily cause eczema or infection. It is best to observe the patient frequently, understand the patient's urination pattern, connect it when urinating, and wait for natural urination.
