Testicular torsion is not uncommon. This disease can occur at any age, and the incidence rate is relatively highest in adolescents. If the disease is delayed in treatment, it may need to be removed due to necrosis. Male friends can take a look at the symptoms of testicular torsion. Symptoms Testicular torsion is a sudden and severe disease, with severe pain in the testicle and scrotum on the affected side. The pain is limited to the scrotum at the beginning of the torsion, and then spreads to the lower abdomen and perineum, accompanied by vomiting, nausea or fever, and redness, swelling and tenderness in the genitals. Because the spermatic cord is also torsion, the blood vessels in the spermatic cord are blocked, and the testicle lacks blood supply. If not treated in time, the testicle will suffer from ischemic necrosis, turn black, and gradually atrophy and lose its function. The clinical manifestations of testicular torsion are mainly pain and swelling. If it occurs in children, it is often more difficult to diagnose. Children usually have unexplained anorexia and restlessness. The disease usually develops quickly. Sometimes, treatment is delayed due to lack of a clear diagnosis, causing unnecessary harm to the patient. 【Clinical symptoms】 1. It is more common in adolescents. Although the disease may occur at any age, it is more common in infants and adolescents. In a case analysis of 718 cases, the average age of onset was 14.9 years old. 2. The disease can occur during exercise or at rest. About half of the patients develop the disease after strenuous exercise. However, when sleeping in a side-lying position, the testicles are squeezed between the legs, which is more obvious than when standing, so twisting is also likely to occur. 3. Common symptoms of testicular torsion are sudden scrotal cramping pain involving the lower abdomen, and fear of straightening the back. The pain can be very severe, with hunched back, pale face, cold sweat all over the body, and older children will cover the perineum with their hands. Examination can reveal that the testicles are enlarged and retracted in a horizontal position, with obvious tenderness, and raising the scrotum can relieve the pain. 4. Ischemic necrosis may occur within 4-12 hours after testicular torsion. When one side of the testicle is necrotic and removed, the other side of the testicle will often also experience a reflexive decrease in blood flow during the onset of the disease, which will cause degenerative changes in the spermatogenesis system and affect future fertility. |
