How to effectively treat genital herpes

Genital herpes is a reproductive disease. If it is not effectively treated, it will be detrimental to reproductive health. Therefore, it is necessary to pay attention to the correct and scientific use of drugs. Acyclovir is currently a better drug for the treatment of genital herpes.

(I) General treatment

(1) Local analgesia can be achieved with local anesthetics, such as 5% lidocaine hydrochloride ointment, but some patients still need to take oral analgesics.

(2) If there is secondary bacterial infection, appropriate antibiotics are required.

(ii) Drug treatment

1. Acyclovir: Currently, only acyclovir is proven to be effective, while other drugs are still under investigation. Acyclovir is an analog of guanine, acting on thymidine, an inhibitor of viral DNA polymerase, and a chain terminator, selectively acting on viruses. Generally, intravenous or oral medication is effective for genital herpes in the initial stage. Oral acyclovir can prevent and treat recurrent genital herpes. However, while acyclovir is effective in treatment, it also increases asymptomatic viral excretion or invisible sexual partner transmission.

(III) Treatment with Traditional Chinese Medicine

In the early stage, the disease belongs to heat syndrome and solid syndrome, which is damp heat and toxic fire blocking the liver pulse; in the later stage, it is accompanied by liver and kidney deficiency. The treatment is mainly based on symptoms and signs, combined with tongue and pulse. Generally, the disease is divided into three types, namely damp heat, toxic heat accumulation, and kidney qi deficiency, and different treatment methods are given respectively. Facts have proved that some commonly used Chinese medicine external wash prescriptions or external treatment prescriptions can relieve the pain and symptoms of genital herpes. The combination of internal and external treatments can improve the efficacy. You can try Longdan Xiegan Decoction or Shuanghuanglian oral liquid. The following are commonly used Chinese medicine external wash prescriptions and external treatment prescriptions.

(1) Take 30 g of Herba Atractylodes japonicae, 30 g of Wild Chrysanthemum, and 30 g of Phellodendron amurense, decoct them into a decoction of about 200 ml and apply it externally twice a day for 15 minutes each time.

(2) Take 30 g of Herba Codonopsis pilosae and 30 g of Radix Isatidis, boil them in a decoction of about 200 ml and use it for external washing, twice a day, for 30 minutes each time.

(3) Add 100g of Glauber's salt to 300ml of boiling water and wash the affected area after it cools.

(4) Take an appropriate amount of fresh lotus root, wash it and mash it into a paste. Apply it to the affected area and cover it with gauze. Change the dressing 1 to 2 times a day.
