Thyroid Hashimoto's disease, these symptoms must be prevented

Medically speaking, Hashimoto's thyroid disease is a type of autoimmune thyroiditis. Because a large number of lymphocytes can be seen in the pathology, it is also called chronic lymphocytic thyroiditis. According to experts, research has found that the disease has a certain degree of hereditary nature, so it should not be underestimated. So, what are the symptoms of Hashimoto's thyroid disease?

Clinical manifestations

Clinically, we often see young female patients with the characteristics of Hashimoto's thyroiditis. They may not have any symptoms. Typical symptoms of hyperthyroidism include: hand tremors, heat intolerance, sweating, restlessness, palpitations, weight loss, and irregular menstruation. At this time, antithyroid drugs must be used for treatment. Patients may also have hypothyroidism. Typical symptoms of hypothyroidism include: fear of cold, obesity, constipation, listlessness, irregular menstruation, etc. The treatment method is to supplement thyroid hormone. Because women with the characteristics of Hashimoto's thyroiditis are generally more likely to have hypothyroidism when they enter menopause. Therefore, once the above symptoms of hypofunction appear, be sure to ask a doctor to help check.

Main hazards

Hashimoto's thyroiditis is also called chronic lymphocytic thyroiditis. In the early stage of this disease, hyperthyroidism or diffuse thyroid enlargement is the main symptom. Although the disease will not immediately cause life-threatening, if it is not actively treated, it will generally develop into hypothyroidism and lead to lifelong hormone administration. The relationship between Hashimoto's thyroiditis and thyroid cancer is still controversial. At present, reports have shown that the incidence of cancer caused by chronic lymphocytic thyroiditis is 12%. Sometimes the two are mixed together, and there are focal thyroiditis lesions near the cancer tissue. Woo1swan et al. believe that microcancer does exist in chronic lymphocytic thyroiditis.
