The foreskin is the protective layer of the male reproductive organ. It has a certain length. If it is too long, the glans penis cannot protrude from the foreskin, affecting sexual life. Hence the idea of circumcision. However, due to personal physical reasons or improper personal care, sequelae may occur after the operation. Let’s take a look at the sequelae of circumcision. Improper circumcision: If the circumcision is too much, the penis erection will be affected after the operation. In severe cases, skin grafting can be performed to correct it. If the circumcision is too little, the foreskin still covers the glans penis after the circumcision. If the foreskin is turned upward without any difficulty, it can be turned over and cleaned frequently; if it is still not turned over satisfactorily or the infection still occurs repeatedly, the circumcision can be performed again. Bleeding: This symptom after circumcision surgery is mostly caused by incomplete hemostasis during surgery or loose ligature. The most common bleeding sites are the superficial dorsal vein of the penis and the frenulum of the prepuce. Bleeding from the superficial dorsal vein of the penis is prone to forming hematomas, and bleeding from the frenulum of the prepuce often results in blood flowing out of the wound, and can also form hematomas under the skin. If this symptom occurs, you should seek medical attention immediately. Infection: This is a very common complication of circumcision. It is caused by failure to effectively control inflammation of the foreskin and glans penis before surgery, mistaken circumcision for those with incarcerated foreskin, lack of attention to aseptic operation or rough operation, and urine contamination of the wound after surgery. After infection occurs, some sutures should be removed to allow drainage, bed rest, and antibacterial drugs should be used. After the operation, except for children who have received general anesthesia and need to be hospitalized for a short period of time for safety reasons, most patients can still carry out their daily work and do not need to be hospitalized. Adolescent and adult patients will experience swelling, pain and bleeding at the wound due to penile erection after the operation. If the bleeding is mild, only local cold compress and pressure can stop the bleeding. If the bleeding is severe, you should return to the hospital immediately for treatment. After circumcision surgery, you should pay attention to rest and eat a light diet. You need to wait one month after the surgery before having sexual intercourse and avoid strenuous exercise. If you feel any discomfort, it is recommended to go to the hospital immediately. Be careful not to get the bandage wet. If it is soaked with urine, you need to go back to the clinic to change a new piece of gauze. |
