How to recover from hemorrhoids after normal delivery?

Hemorrhoids are a painful disease. They can cause anal pain and bleeding in severe cases. Some women experience hemorrhoids during normal childbirth, which causes physical and mental damage. If hemorrhoids are severe or recur, surgery can be considered. Mothers should be careful when using medication to avoid affecting breastfeeding. If medication is used, breastfeeding should be suspended. How to recover from hemorrhoids during normal childbirth? Let's take a look.

1. How to recover from hemorrhoids after normal delivery?

Hemorrhoids are a disease with a very high incidence rate, especially for women after normal delivery. The increase in abdominal pressure during the delivery process will make hemorrhoids more serious. If hemorrhoids occur after normal delivery, the affected area should be washed with hot water every night, or you can soak it for a little longer. When soaking, you can use your fingers to gently pinch the protruding blood blisters of the hemorrhoids, which can help release the blood blisters and has a certain nursing effect on keeping the anus clean and physiological functions.

You should have regular bowel movements and develop the habit of having a bowel movement once a day. The time for each bowel movement should be controlled within five minutes. You can drink a glass of warm water every morning to help gastrointestinal motility.

It is necessary to use the medicine reasonably. You can apply the hemorrhoid ointment for pregnant women three times in the morning, noon and evening. Before application, use warm water wet compress or sitz bath fumigation for five to ten minutes. If the pregnant mother has severe bloody stools, you can change the hot compress to cold compress with cool boiled water to help constrict blood vessels and reduce bleeding from the wound.

2. How to do a sitz bath for hemorrhoids?

1. Use the Zukang sitz bath tub for a sitz bath. First, you need to clean after defecation to prevent feces from infecting perianal bacteria. After cleaning, take a sitz bath. There are three ways to take a sitz bath: one is a light salt water sitz bath, one is a pepper water sitz bath, and the other is a potassium permanganate sitz bath.

2. Use one teaspoon of light salt water, not too much. Add peppercorns to boiling water at a ratio of 10:1 for fumigation. Use potassium permanganate at a ratio of 5000:1 for sitz bath. The sitz bath temperature should be controlled at around 40 degrees. Many people blindly believe that the higher the temperature, the more conducive to sterilization. In fact, this is wrong. Too high a temperature is more likely to damage the perianal mucosa. The sitz bath time should be controlled at 10-20 minutes.

3. Don’t take a sitz bath for hemorrhoids for too long

Research data shows that patients who sit in a bath for 5 minutes have better cleaning and sterilization effects than those who sit in a bath for 20 minutes. This is because potassium permanganate is added to the bath treatment, which is an oxidant that destroys the bacterial structure by releasing oxygen, thereby achieving a sterilization effect. This drug will evaporate in about 5 minutes. If the bath time is too long, it will not only fail to achieve a sterilization effect, but also cause the scab on the wound to fall off, local bleeding, and increase the number of bacterial colonies, and even cause corrosive burns.

4. The water temperature during the sitz bath is also important

Water temperature that is too high or too low is not conducive to the treatment of hemorrhoids. Water temperature of 40-45 degrees can promote local blood circulation and enhance the efficacy of drugs, but the water temperature is generally maintained for 5-10 minutes, after which the heat will gradually subside. In addition, the number of sitz baths should not be too frequent, no more than twice a day, and sitz baths should be performed after defecation.
