Boys' testicles generally begin to grow around the age of 12, and the volume of their testicles is close to that of adult testicles around the age of 18. Testicular development and increase in volume are important reflections of puberty growth and development; if you touch your testicles from time to time, you will feel that they are slowly growing. Pubic hair begins to grow at about 12 years old during puberty, gradually changing from sparse and fine to dense and black. Pubic hair is also affected by androgens produced by the testicles and adrenal glands. As the sexual organs mature, androgen secretion increases. After about 18 years old, boys' pubic hair is distributed in a pointed triangle shape, with the tip usually reaching the lower abdomen, similar to the pubic hair of typical adult men.
