What causes dry eyes? Three reasons men must know

On weekdays, if our eyes become dry and itchy, we need to take a proper rest. So, what is the cause of dry eyes?

1. Drug factors.

Certain medications can reduce tear secretion and cause dry eye symptoms, such as antidepressants, antihistamines, diuretics, antihypertensive drugs, anesthetics, and anti-ulcer drugs.

2. Computer users.

Staring at the fluorescent screen for a long time, lack of normal blinking, and blinking can make tears moisten the eyes better. More than 90% of people who work in front of the computer for more than 3 hours a day have eye problems.

3. Certain disease factors.

Such as rheumatoid arthritis, diabetes, thyroid abnormalities, asthma, cataracts, glaucoma and lupus erythematosus.

4. 75% of people over the age of 65 suffer from dry eyes.

Because the production of tears in the elderly decreases with age, the reduced secretion of tears makes the eyes more susceptible to irritation, sometimes causing a violent tearing reaction, i.e. epiphora.
