What are the symptoms of prostatitis?

The prostate is a male-specific reproductive organ, and its function is very important to men. Maintaining basic male characteristics and engaging in sexual activities require the function of the prostate. Therefore, protecting the prostate is a key point that men need to pay attention to. In recent years, the high incidence of prostate diseases has had a significant impact on men. Let's take a look at the symptoms of prostatitis.

1. Prostate pain: These patients present with persistent frequent urination, dysuria, and dysuria, pain and discomfort in the perineum, lower abdomen, lumbosacral area, etc., which worsens after sitting for a long time or riding a bicycle. Rectal digital examination shows obvious tenderness in the levator ani muscles on both sides, and prostate palpation is normal without tenderness. In the past, this syndrome was called piriformis levator ani syndrome. Microscopic examination of prostate fluid is normal, and bacterial culture shows no growth.

2. Prostatic abscess: Most cases are complications of acute bacterial prostatitis, and they usually occur in patients aged 50 to 60. Half of the patients have acute urinary retention, frequent urination, dysuria, rectal discomfort, urethral discharge, and some are accompanied by epididymitis. Rectal examination shows that the diseased side of the prostate is enlarged, soft to the touch, and has a pulsating feeling. Occasionally, prostatic abscesses may rupture naturally into the urethra or into the rectum, and may be mistaken for perirectal abscesses.

3. Prostate stones: stones that occur in the prostate acini and glandular ducts. They are related to chronic prostate inflammation, prostate fluid retention, glandular duct stenosis, metabolic disorders and other factors. Inorganic salts such as calcium oxalate, calcium phosphate, and magnesium phosphate are deposited on the amyloid bodies, epithelial cells and inflammatory exudates in the prostate acini to form stones. Patients may show various symptoms of chronic prostatitis, but rectal examination can feel the friction of stones on the prostate, pelvic X-rays have positive stone shadows on one side of the pubic symphysis, and ultrasound examinations can show strong light bands and sound shadows at the site of prostate stones.
