Urinary tract stones are a relatively common urological disease in clinical practice, and the incidence rate in men is much higher than that in women. Many male friends do not understand what kind of disease this is. In my opinion, urinary tract stones are nothing more than stones formed in the kidneys or bladder, which are harmful to the body. So, how should men check for urinary tract stones? Diagnostic tests 1. Urine routine: Whether there are red blood cells or not, more oxalate can be found in the urine. or phosphate crystals; if there is concurrent infection with stones, pus cells may also be found in the urine; 2. Take a plain abdominal X-ray: This is the most valuable examination for the diagnosis and treatment of urinary tract stones. About 95% of patients with stones can show images on X-rays. If necessary, further intravenous pyelography can be performed to understand the renal function and hydronephrosis; 3. B-ultrasound: economical and convenient, it can diagnose positive stones and latent stones that cannot be found on X-rays. Its disadvantage is that it is not very satisfactory for showing stones in the middle and lower parts of the ureter; 4. CT examination: It can be used for patients with stones that cannot be seen on X-rays, but it is expensive and is not included in routine examinations; 5. Cystoscopy + retrograde angiography: This method is mainly used for patients with suboptimal IVP or patients who are allergic to angiography. Dangers of urinary tract stones: 1. Cause urinary tract obstruction. In the early stage of urethral stones in men, because the stones are relatively small, they will move in the urethra and cause damage; when the stones are larger, they will block the urethral opening, resulting in the inability to discharge urine normally. Long-term pressure on the urinary tract mucosa will cause epithelial shedding and tissue ulceration, which will not only damage the patient's health, but also induce cancer and endanger the life of men. 2. Induce urinary tract infection. For diseases such as urethral stones, if not treated in time, it will cause urinary tract infection. The stones will rub and irritate the urethra, inducing urinary tract infection or hydronephrosis infection. When the disease develops to a certain extent, it will form nephroticus. Severe urinary tract infection will cause septicemia, threatening the health and life of the patient. Patients and friends should not ignore the harm of urethral stones and need to receive scientific and standardized treatment in time. 3. Damage. When urethral stones are relatively large or the surface of the stones is relatively rough, the stones will damage body organs when moving in the urethra, such as the mucous membrane of the renal pelvis and ureter, causing bleeding, erosion and ulcers due to infection. In severe cases, it will also damage kidney function. Long-term stimulation of the mucous membrane by the stones will develop into cancer, which requires attention. |
