Why do I feel cold feet?

We often feel cold hands and feet due to temperature changes. In fact, this is a normal phenomenon in many cases. For example, cold feet may be caused by not wearing the right shoes. However, if you still feel cold feet when you have taken all the warming measures, it may be your body sending you a warning.

It is a common phenomenon that some people always feel cold hands and feet in winter. This is mainly because the temperature in nature drops, the Yang Qi is insufficient, and the Yang Qi of the human body is also insufficient, and the body shows the manifestation of Yang deficiency. In addition, because of the cold weather, the body's blood vessels contract and the blood return ability will be weakened, making the blood circulation in the hands and feet, especially the fingertips, not smooth, which is what people often call "poor peripheral circulation", resulting in the hands and feet always feeling cold.

This situation generally occurs in women, especially middle-aged and older women. People who do mental work are more likely to have cold hands and feet than those who do physical work. It rarely occurs in healthy young men.

Generally speaking, patients with anemia and gastrointestinal diseases, those with malnutrition or hypothyroidism causing poor blood circulation in the whole body or in some parts of the body, or those with blood circulation disorders in the extremities of the body, will all suffer from cold hands and feet. Especially during menstruation, pregnancy and childbirth, women are more likely to suffer from cold hands and feet due to physical weakness.

In medicine, frequent and long-term cold hands and feet can be called "cold syndrome".

If it is not a very serious cold syndrome (usually it is not very serious and not unbearably cold), it can be prevented and self-regulated.

1. Strengthen physical exercise

Especially those who sit or stand for long periods of time must pay attention to work breaks and do more exercises for their hands, feet and waist to enhance blood circulation.

2. Pay attention to your diet

Eat more warm foods to improve the body's resistance to cold. Common warm foods include: beef, lamb, dog, chicken, garlic, pepper, ginger, onion, yam, longan, etc.
