Chancroid and glansitis

Chancroid and glansitis

Chancroid generally refers to the infection of Treponema pallidum, which is the specific manifestation of primary syphilis in the reproductive organs. This symptom is often spread through blood, sexual behavior, and mother-to-child transmission. It is often manifested as ulcerative skin lesions on the glans penis, mostly in the coronal sulcus and the inner plate of the foreskin, without pain, itching or discomfort. A blood test for syphilis-specific blood cell test is required for diagnosis, and the main treatment is intramuscular injection of penicillin G. Balanitis is generally subacute superficial balanitis, which is often seen in patients with long foreskin or redundant foreskin. The main manifestation is swelling and discomfort of the glans penis, accompanied by severe pain. The general treatment is mainly to apply dilute iodine disinfectant for cleaning, and circumcision can be performed after the inflammation subsides.

Chancroid is not a disease, but a clinical symptom of primary syphilis, also known as primary syphilis. After infection with Treponema pallidum, a chancroid rash will generally appear after a 2-4 week risk period. The characteristic of chancroid is that it often occurs in the external genitalia of men and women, often on the chest, and can also be multiple. The typical damage is painless ulcer, mainly manifested as a bright red erosive surface or atrophic ulcer surface, annular or elliptical, 1-2 cm in diameter, with clear boundaries of the ulcer, slightly higher than the soft skin, and both surfaces are clean or have a small amount of secretions.

Chancroid is a primary syphilis rash and needs to be treated actively. You can take roxithromycin or erythromycin for one to ten days for pre-treatment, or give a dose of methylprednisolone three days before the start of formal treatment. In terms of treatment, penicillin G is the best drug for treating syphilis. You can use procaine penicillin G, 800,000 yuan, once a day, intramuscular injection, and use it for 10-14 days; or benzylpenicillin G, 2.4 million yuan, injected into both buttocks, once a week, and used 2-3 times.

If there is a skin allergy to penicillin, you can use ceftriaxone sodium 0.5-1 gram, intravenous injection, once a day, and use it for 10-14 days; or doxycycline hydrochloride 100 mg, twice a day, a cycle of 14 days; or erythromycin 0.5 gram, 4 times a day, continued for 14 days; or tetracycline 0.5 gram, 4 times a day, a cycle of 14 days.
