How long does it take to recover from circumcision?

In modern society, people attach more importance to physical health, and many patients choose to undergo circumcision. What many patients know most before and after the operation is the recovery period after the operation. The following will explain the relevant issues to you, hoping to be of some help to you:

Generally speaking, after circumcision, the stitches can be removed in 7-10 days, recovery takes about 20 days, and sexual intercourse can be resumed in about a month. However, the recovery time cannot be generalized and depends on the actual recovery condition. After the operation, you should take care of all aspects of your body, which will also have a certain practical effect on the recovery after the operation.

Wound Care after Circumcision Surgery

1. It is better to rest in bed within one week after circumcision surgery, and avoid standing or sitting for a long time. Some young people are reluctant to take a vacation after surgery and still insist on working. Due to the poor blood circulation in some parts, the wound will be swollen directly, affecting the wound repair.

2. It is better to wear looser clothes after circumcision surgery. Generally, after the operation, the doctor will put a medical dressing on the wound and place a window screen on the vulva to reduce the friction at the wound.

3. It is normal for the affected area to have slight edema 3 to 4 days after circumcision. This is a body response caused by medication and surgical treatment. Note that the swelling is light pink at this time.

4. Do not wet the medical dressing when urinating. If it has been soaked by urine, it should be replaced as soon as possible. You can prepare 75% ethanol or 1:1000 new gentamicin cotton wool or isosmotic saline cotton wool to clean the area around the urethra after urinating, keep the wound medical dressing clean, or soak the male genital head with 1:5000 potassium permanganate solution and warm water every day.

5. Within 3 to 4 days after the operation, take sedatives such as 2.5 mg of stable before going to bed to prevent physiological needs from causing wound tearing, pain or bleeding. If the wound is inflamed and cannot heal for a long time, you can apply facial mask with edge-sealing and square-opening, and take some anti-inflammatory and analgesic drugs at the same time.

6. Do not eat spicy food, drink alcohol or smoke during the wound healing period.
