Where is sperm stored?

As we all know, sperm is related to fertility. Healthy sperm and egg cells combine to create new life. Many people are very interested in sperm. Every day, the male body produces some sperm. So where is this sperm? If it is not ejaculated, where is the remaining sperm?

Where is sperm stored?

After the sperm is produced in the testicle, it is gradually transported from the head of the epididymal cyst to the tail, which takes about 2 weeks and further improves to make it capable of fertilization. The survival time of sperm stored in the tail of the epididymal cyst varies from species to species, and it is about 1 to 2 months in humans. In addition, the testicles continue to produce sperm, which is transported forward continuously, ensuring a sufficient source of sperm, and the sperm stored in the epididymal cyst will not be ejaculated quickly due to temptation. In order to reproduce, it has been maintaining sufficient strength, so it is not easy for men to ejaculate all the sperm stored in the epididymal cyst at once.

How long does a man's sperm live in a woman's body?

Generally speaking, the life span of sperm in a woman's vagina is no more than 8 hours. Then only a small number of sperm will escape and continue to move forward. Why is this? Because during ejaculation, sperm in the semen can obtain a lot of glucose and sugar-dissolving enzymes in the semen to protect it, and when sperm enters the uterus, it leaves the semen. At this time, the living environment is far worse than in the semen, so the life span is greatly shortened. Poor-quality sperm moves slowly and cannot reach the uterine cavity quickly, and loses its potency.

So, after the sperm enters the woman's body, how long can the sperm survive in the woman's body? Experts suggest: After the sperm undergoes a translocation, only a few sperm can finally reach the bilateral fallopian tube fertilization site. However, as long as the sperm enters the bilateral fallopian tubes, it has a strong fertilization ability. Of course, in the end only 1-2 sperm are lucky enough to fuse with the egg cells, and the other sperm die one after another within 24-36 hours. Only the sperm stored in the crypts of the cervical mucosa have a lifespan of 2-6 days, and even so, its fertilization ability has been basically lost, because the fertilization ability of most sperm can only last about 20 hours.

Although sperm ejaculated into the female reproductive system can survive for up to 4-5 days, its strong fertilization ability lasts only 1-2 days. In other words, pregnancy is only possible if you have sex within 1-2 days before and after the female ovulation period.
