A large number of white blood cells gather at the inflamed site to engulf the bacteria. The endotoxins released by the dead bacteria cause the mucosal layer to necrotize, resulting in a large amount of purulent secretions that are discharged from the urethra. In the early stage of gonorrhea, the symptoms are redness, swelling, itching, and slight stinging of the urethra. Subsequently, purulent secretions appear in the urethra and gradually worsen. If effective treatment is not taken at this time, it can turn into chronic gonococcal urethritis. Some patients may develop prostatitis, seminal vesiculitis, epididymitis, etc.
