Male urethral adhesion

Male urethral adhesion

Male urethral adhesion is a relatively common disease. When male urethral adhesion occurs, male defecation will be seriously disturbed. Not only will the urine bifurcate, but it may also cause urinary pain in men. Adhesion is also prone to cause inflammation. Severe patients may even need urethral dilation surgery, and a catheter will need to be inserted after the surgery. So what should be done about male urethral adhesion?

In fact, urethral adhesions are often encountered. For example, when you get up in the morning and urinate, you will find that there is some secretion adhesion at the urethral opening, and then it will be normal after urinating. In this case, it is mostly a normal physiological phenomenon and you don’t need to pay too much attention to it. However, if there is frequent secretion adhesion at the urethral opening, or it reaches the level of urination disorder, you must actively treat it. For this situation, many patients will choose surgery, but it is not necessary to do so. Urethral adhesions do not necessarily require surgery.

Choose the right treatment method for urethral adhesion

The main surgical method for urethral adhesion is urethral dilation, which is a good method in theory to eliminate adhesions in the urethra and urethral opening by dilating the urethra. However, urethral dilation is not a treatment method that must be used for all patients with urethral adhesion, especially for urethral adhesion, which does not require surgical treatment in many cases.

The common cause of urethral adhesion is inflammatory infection. If there is inflammation in the urogenital system, excessive secretions will flow out of the urethra due to the irritation of the inflammation, which will easily block the urethra and cause adhesion. Generally speaking, this kind of adhesion can be washed away at the same time as urine is discharged. Patients only need to treat the inflammation, such as sensitive antibiotics in the early stage. If the inflammation reaches the chronic stage, it can be treated with Chinese medicine, such as oral Chinese medicine diuretic and anti-inflammatory pills, which can also play an anti-inflammatory and bactericidal role. When the inflammation is eliminated and the secretions are reduced, adhesion will not occur.

In these cases, surgery is required.

Of course, in addition to infectious factors such as prostatitis, gonococcal infection or phimosis, which can cause urethral adhesion and stenosis, there are also some conditions that can cause urethral adhesion and urethral stenosis, such as the relatively rare congenital urethral stenosis, urethral valves, urethral lumen stenosis, etc. In these cases, patients need urethral dilation treatment. If these diseases occur, surgical dilation is currently the best method.

To achieve good therapeutic effects in treating diseases, patients must find the right method. This is the case with the treatment of urethral adhesions. Patients must first clarify the cause. If it is urinary tract inflammation, active anti-inflammatory treatment is sufficient. You can reasonably choose antibiotics or Chinese medicine diuretic and anti-inflammatory pills, which can have therapeutic effects. If there are other factors such as congenital urethral stenosis, surgical treatment is the best way in this case. Urethral adhesions do not necessarily require surgery. Patients must understand this point and never think of surgery as soon as adhesions are found. Only by clarifying the cause and treating the symptoms can a satisfactory therapeutic effect be achieved!
