Red and itchy skin on the penis

Red and itchy skin on the penis

When the skin on the penis area becomes red and itchy, you should pay special attention. At this time, you must keep your living environment moist. If the itching is severe, the degree of itching will be much more serious. And don't scratch it excessively with your hands. In this case, a small number of patients are caused by sexual intercourse, which is caused by sexual transmission.

① The living and working environment is humid, and the air humidity is relatively high;

②External stimulation, cold or hot, excessive sweating, excessive scratching, etc.;

③ Tight underwear, friction with foreign objects, and wearing synthetic underwear can induce scrotal eczema;

Scrotal eczema can also be acquired through sexual transmission. Clinically, 20% of scrotal eczema patients are infected through unhealthy sexual transmission.

Scrotal itching is a very common symptom, especially in young men. Generally speaking, it may have the following reasons:

(1) It is more common in people who do manual labor, especially in the summer, when the genitals are hot, sweaty, humid, and poorly ventilated. The scrotal skin is stained by sweat and rubbed by underwear, causing itching. Wearing tight jeans or non-absorbent, non-breathable nylon underwear can also cause this condition.

(2) Riboflavin (vitamin B2) deficiency can lead to scrotitis. The scrotum will show changes such as erythema, dryness, scaling, papules and scabs, accompanied by itching. At the same time, angular cheilitis, glossitis and oral ulcers may also occur.

(3) Scrotitis caused by fungi, such as candidal scrotitis and tinea cruris involving the scrotum, can cause scrotal itching.

(4) Neurodermatitis and eczema in the scrotum can cause itching. In summary, general scrotal itching is not a sexually transmitted disease. As long as there is no history of sexual promiscuity, genital ulcers or growths, urethral discharge, etc., there is no need to worry about contracting a sexually transmitted disease.

2. Unbearable itching affects normal work and life: Scrotal itching makes people itchy and causes great pain to patients due to severe itching. The main harm of scrotal itching is that it affects their normal work and life. Long-term incomplete treatment can lead to mental depression, irritability and mental disorders. In addition to the common Staphylococcus aureus skin infection, scrotal itching is less common such as herpes simplex virus infection, warts, or infectious plaques.
