Is it OK to not be circumcised?

Many male friends actually have the problem of foreskin being too long, but not all cases of foreskin being too long require circumcision. If the foreskin is too long and has reached the point where the glans cannot be fully exposed during sexual intercourse, then circumcision is necessary, and friends with foreskin that are too long also need to clean the dirt regularly.

The hazards of foreskin being too long are as follows:

1. If the foreskin is not treated in time in the early stage, inflammation will occur between the foreskin and the glans penis. Repeated inflammation will cause the foreskin and the glans penis to adhere, thus forming an abnormal appearance of adhesion;

2. Due to the recurrence of inflammation, it may even lead to infection. From the urethra opening along the urinary tract, it may cause urethritis, urethral stenosis, cystitis, ureteritis, and even pyelonephritis, which will cause great harm to the patient's health. Therefore, those with phimosis need to see a doctor in time;

3. If it is simply foreskin that is too long, it can usually be removed after puberty has fully developed. If you still feel that the foreskin is too long, you can cut off the excess part to ensure local cleanliness and hygiene.

One reason for circumcision is to maintain hygiene. There are many oil glands on the foreskin and glans, which secrete the so-called smegma and produce a special smell. If the foreskin is too long, sweat and dirt will cause red spots and itching on the skin, which we call "balanitis". Therefore, the most important thing to pay attention to foreskin hygiene is to know how to clean the foreskin on the glans and keep it dry. If the cleaning work is done well, no matter how long the foreskin is, there is no need to undergo surgery to remove it.

Under what circumstances should circumcision be performed?

1. The foreskin is too long, that is, the foreskin covers the glans penis, which is not easy to turn over and clean. The common reason is the foreskin ring. Its diameter is smaller than the glans penis, so the foreskin cannot be pulled down to the part below the glans penis. If too much force is used, the foreskin ring may get stuck in the penis body and compress the venous blood flow, causing swelling and pain at the front of the penis. This is called "incarcerated foreskin". The foreskin ring must be cut off surgically. It is best for adolescents with this kind of incarcerated foreskin to undergo circumcision. Since it is difficult to clean, the accumulated smegma and various viruses will cause symptoms and harm to local organs. It is better to suffer a short pain than a long pain. A simple circumcision will make a man's penis area dry and hygienic. Why not do it!

2. For STDs that recur locally on the foreskin, since they are buried in the dead corners of the foreskin, circumcision surgery is helpful for complete treatment and permanent prevention.
