Can oligoasthenozoospermia be cured?

In daily life, many couples hope to have their own children, but some people have been married for many years and have normal sex life but still cannot get pregnant, so they go to the hospital for examination and find that the male has oligospermia and asthenospermia. In this case, you must follow the doctor's advice in time. For most people, there is still a possibility of pregnancy, so you need to actively deal with it. So, can oligospermia and asthenospermia be cured?

1. Prevention of Asthenospermia

1. Prevent various infectious diseases that endanger male fertility, such as mumps, sexually transmitted diseases, etc. If you find that the testicles are different from usual changes, such as swelling, hardening, unevenness, pain, etc., you must seek medical treatment in time.

2. Avoid prolonged masturbation. Prolonged masturbation can cause slow congestion of the prostate, leading to aseptic prostatitis, affecting the nutritional content, quantity, viscosity, acidity and alkalinity of semen, and inducing infertility.

3. Do not eat too greasy food, quit smoking and drinking. The reproductive cells in the testicles are affected by the harmful components in tobacco, which makes the sperm quantity and quality poor, and often leads to infertility or deformed babies. Excessive drinking can lead to chronic alcohol poisoning, sperm dysplasia or loss of activity.

4. Pay attention to rest: Work in moderation, avoid fatigue, and relax your mind. Excessive fatigue and excessive mental stress will have a negative impact on sperm growth.

5. Avoid steam baths: Go to saunas and steam rooms less often. High-temperature steam baths can directly damage male sperm and inhibit sperm production.

6. Avoid using or use less chemical agents as much as possible. It is best to wait a few days before wearing clothes from dry cleaners, as dry cleaning agents can affect male sexual function. Do not take medications at will. If you are sick, it is best to follow the doctor's instructions to avoid improper intake of medication ingredients that may affect your health.

2. Pregnancy rate of asthenospermia

Asthenospermia is one of the important causes of male infertility. If some factors directly affect the movement of sperm, especially the forward movement, it will make it impossible for the sperm to swim to the specific location of the egg within the best time, affecting fertilization. In addition, if the sperm stays in the vagina for too long, the survival time of the sperm will be shortened.

1. Under normal circumstances, if the proportion of grade A sperm in semen is less than 25%, or the proportion of grade A plus grade B is less than 50%, it is considered abnormal. However, if the proportion is close to normal, such as grade A sperm reaching more than 20% and less than 25%, the possibility of fertility in such asthenospermia is relatively high, and the possibility of pregnancy for the wife is relatively high.

It should be noted that whether a man is infertile depends not only on sperm motility but also on other reproductive system problems, such as antisperm antibodies, ureaplasma urealyticum, Chlamydia trachomatis, Mycoplasma hominis, and Mycoplasma genitalium infections.

2. If the patient has severe asthenospermia, especially when the sperm motility is severely low, such as the sperm A index is below 15%, it is difficult to have a normal baby regardless of other grading indicators. Even if a woman gets pregnant occasionally, miscarriage, embryo arrest and other accidents are likely to occur, which is not conducive to eugenics.
