I don't know if any men have noticed that their testicles are always shrinking upwards, but even if they do, many men think that this is a normal physical phenomenon, so they don't take it seriously. In fact, this is not the case. There are many reasons for male testicular shrinkage. Many times it is a normal physiological phenomenon of the male body, but a few times it is an abnormal pathological phenomenon. Today, let's learn about the reasons for male testicular shrinkage. There are many reasons for testicular shrinkage, some normal and some abnormal. The following are some of the reasons for testicular shrinkage: (1) Testicular bruise: When the testicles are injured, there will be local swelling and bruises. Because the scrotal skin is loose, the blood flow to the testicles is abundant, so it is very easy to cause blood swelling and infection after injury. Vigorous exercise, sexual behavior, and violence can sometimes cause strong contraction of the levator testis muscle, making the testicles "worse". After trauma, if the blood vessels that supply nutrients to the testicles are severely damaged, they will atrophy and necrotize, causing impotence or sexual dysfunction. (2) Testicular torsion: Testicular torsion is not uncommon and can occur in people from newborns to the elderly, but the incidence is higher in children and people aged 20 to 25. This torsion may be due to testicular necrosis and must be removed. The longer the delay, the greater the possibility of testicular dysfunction. Even if the testicle is not removed, the sperm function of the testicle is often damaged due to prolonged ischemia, resulting in testicular atrophy. The fundamental cause of torsion is generally congenital malformation of the reproductive organs. If the levator testis is stimulated during exercise, trauma, or sleep, causing it to contract and strengthen, causing the levator testis fibers to take on a spiral shape, coupled with the weight of the testicle, especially in cryptic testicles with only one testicle exposed, this disease is more likely to occur. Testicular torsion is prone to occur at night or in the early morning. (3) Cooling: Since the testicles have high temperature requirements, the scrotum is responsible for regulating the temperature of the testicles. When the temperature of the testicles is too low, the scrotal skin contracts to prevent heat loss; when the testicles are overheated, the scrotal skin relaxes to dissipate heat. (4) Varicose veins: Varicose veins occur in 10% of men aged 30 to 40. 90% of cases occur on the left side. This is caused by blood congestion in the spermatic vein, which results in venous dilation, tortuosity and elongation. Varicose veins can also be caused by kidney tumors. Varicose veins deserve attention because they may be accompanied by testicular atrophy and spermatogenesis disorders, leading to infertility. |
