What are the symptoms of penile curvature?

Penile curvature is a common problem of male reproductive organs. Its full name is "abnormality of the corpus cavernosum albuginea of the penis". If a man's penis unfortunately has problems, he should seek medical attention immediately. Remember not to delay the best treatment time because of embarrassment. In fact, the vast majority of men's penile curvature is physiological, so as long as he goes to the hospital for regular treatment in time, it can generally recover quickly.

The medical name for penile curvature is "abnormality of the corpus cavernosum albuginea", which means that there is more tunica albuginea in some parts, thus pulling the penis to the other side. For example, if there is more tunica albuginea on the right side, the penis will bend to the left.

Cause

Most people have physiological curvature. This is because the inside of the penis is composed of three parallel long columnar corpora cavernosa. The two parallel ones on the back are called the penile corpora cavernosa, and the other one on the ventral side, through which the urethra passes, is called the urethral corpora cavernosa.

Normally the penis is flaccid. When sexually excited, the sinus vascularis muscles in the corpus cavernosum relax and a large amount of blood flows into the sinus cavernosum. When the flow reaches a certain level, the elastic tunica albuginea wrapped around the corpus cavernosum of the penis will fully expand. The expanded state is like a fully inflated ball, forming a hard columnar body, and supporting the penis to stand upright. The key role is played by the elastic fibers between the two corpora cavernosa of the penis. When they are pulled to the extreme, the penis is fully erect. Because the corpus cavernosum of the urethra is not correspondingly congested and expanded, the penis is generally slightly bent downward when it is erect, and it is only hard and straight after it is fully erect. But under normal circumstances, the penis is not fully erect. It is only in the few seconds before orgasm that it will be fully erect. Slight bending or twisting is also normal. Of course, there are very few cases of pathological bending.

Cause Analysis

1. Congenital hypospadias with penile curvature.

2. The frenulum of the foreskin is too short, pulling on the glans and causing the penis to bend downward.

3. Corpus cavernosum penile induration, this disease not only causes dorsiflexion or lateral curvature of the penis, but also causes erectile pain and sexual dysfunction.

4. Abnormal development of the corpus cavernosum on the ventral side of the penis or the absence of the corpus cavernosum.

5. Penile trauma, excessive force during sexual intercourse, incorrect sexual posture, causing penile injury and rupture of the tunica albuginea. Later, scars will form, causing penile curvature. Bad living habits, such as uneven force during masturbation, wearing tight underwear that causes the penis to deviate to one side for a long time, etc.

Symptoms Common symptoms that cause penile curvature include the following:

1. Abnormal development of the corpora cavernosa of the penis. The two corpora cavernosa of the penis are asymmetrical, and the penis will bend to one side during erection. If the bend is not severe, there is no pain or discomfort during erection, and it does not affect sexual life, no special treatment is required.

2. Congenital malformations such as epispadias or hypospadias. In this type of patient, the urethral opening is not in the middle of the glans penis, but in the coronal sulcus of the penis, the penis shaft, or even near the scrotum. The defective urethra is replaced by the tissue of the fibrous band. When the penis is erect, it is pulled by the fibrous band, resulting in bending, which requires surgical correction.

3. Penile curvature can also be caused by diseases such as penile injury or fibrous cavernosum, penile sclerosis, etc. The angle of pathological curvature is generally large, and it bends upward, downward, or to the left or right. It is generally believed that if the upward curvature angle of the penis after erection is less than 40°, and the downward curvature angle or the left or right curvature angle is less than 30°, and the sexual life is satisfactory, no treatment is required. If the curvature angle is large, then go to the urology department or the andrology department for diagnosis and treatment.
