What are the symptoms of male trichomonal vaginitis?

Trichomonal vaginitis is a common gynecological inflammation in women, which is caused by trichomonas infection in the vagina. The main symptoms of this disease are foamy leucorrhea and itchy vulva, which require local and systemic medication. Women with trichomonal vaginitis should be treated at the same time as their spouses. This is because this disease can also be transmitted to men, causing infection of the male reproductive organs. Let's take a look at the specific symptoms.

Male patients may experience redness, swelling, pain, or even erosion of the glans penis and foreskin. Not only that, it can also be transmitted to women, causing a great impact on the couple's sexual life. Therefore, once the disease is discovered, sexual life should be prohibited, and it is wise to actively receive treatment.

Male patients with trichomonal urethritis often have a history of sexual intercourse with women infected with trichomonas. Symptoms are generally mild or even absent. The main clinical manifestations are varying degrees of urethral itching and discomfort. Symptoms often worsen during urination. Severe cases may develop posterior urethritis, cystitis, prostatitis, and epididymitis, with purulent secretions and difficulty urinating. In addition, glansitis may also occur, manifested by papules, erythema, blisters, and erosions on the glans.

The main symptoms are as follows: The incubation period of trichomonal urethritis is usually 4-7 days. In severe cases, there will be itching and burning sensations in the vulva and inner thighs. Infection of the urinary tract at the same time, with urethritis and cystitis, may cause symptoms such as frequent urination, urgency, pain when urinating, and hematuria.

When retrograde infection leads to pyelonephritis, there are chills, back pain, high fever, general discomfort and gastrointestinal reactions. Physical examination shows costovertebral angle tenderness and percussion pain. The symptoms and signs of trichomonal urethritis are the same as those of general bacterial urinary tract infection.
