Most people think that only women can be infected with Candida. In fact, because many parts of the human body can be infected with this fungus, men can also be infected with Candida. Different parts of the body infected with this fungus will have different symptoms.

1. Systemic candidiasis

It is an invasive infection caused by Candida albicans, mainly Candida albicans, and is manifested by fungal blood disease, endocarditis, meningitis, and focal lesions of the liver, spleen, kidney, bone, skin, subcutaneous tissue, or other tissues. Infections in different parts of the body cause different symptoms, and can invade the skin and mucous membranes, as well as affect internal organs.

2. Esophageal Candida infection Candida is the most common fungal infection of the esophagus.

Among them, Candida albicans infection is the most common. Other rare fungal infections include Aspergillus, Histoplasmic bacteria, Cryptococcus and Blastomyces. Mild cases may be asymptomatic, while severe cases often present with swallowing pain, foreign body sensation, and swallowing discomfort, and some patients may experience dysphagia.

The damaged skin presents a well-defined flushed erosive surface, surrounded by flat dark red papules, small blisters or small pustules the size of green beans. Interdigital lesions often occur between the middle finger and the ring finger, and are common in people who have been engaged in wet work for a long time. The skin lesions are oval in shape, showing infiltration and erosion, with clear boundaries. There is a sense of pain or mild itching. If the toes are affected, it may present as erosive tinea pedis.

It is mainly a cellular immune deficiency, while humoral immunity is mostly hyperactive. It belongs to primary cellular immunodeficiency disease. Patients may have chronic recurrent Candida infections of the skin, mucous membranes and nails, such as goose mouth sores, vaginitis, etc. Skin lesions are mostly seen on the face and limbs, showing slightly raised, clearly defined erythema, accompanied by keratin hyperplasia, scaling and Candida granulomas. The skin lesions on the face, forehead and top of the head are often covered with thick keratotic scabs, and the nails are significantly swollen, and the nail plate is thickened, twisted and damaged. Internal organs are mostly not affected.

3. Simple vulvovaginal candidiasis

It refers to vulvovaginitis caused by Candida albicans and Candida albicans in women, which is mainly manifested by vulvar itching and burning pain. In severe cases, it can cause restlessness, urgency and frequency of urination. Generally, the symptoms are mild or moderate. It is more common in women, but can also occur in children. It is a common inflammatory disease of female reproductive tract infection. At present, the incidence of this disease is increasing, and it has become the main cause of increased leucorrhea.

4. Recurrent vulvovaginal candidiasis

It refers to a situation in which a woman suffers from simple Candida vulvovaginitis. After treatment, the clinical symptoms and signs disappear. After the mycological examination is negative, the symptoms reappear and the mycological examination is positive again. This can be called relapse of Candida vulvovaginitis.

5. Candidaemia

Various types of intubation are the main entry points, accounting for more than 50% of candidaemia. Intestinal candida can also enter the blood circulation and cause candidaemia. Patients may experience chills, fever, skin lesions, or no clinical manifestations.

The main pathogenic bacteria are Candida albicans, followed by tropical Candida, Candida parapsilosis, Candida grablerae and Candida cruzi. Tropical Candida and Candida cruzi infections are more common in tumor patients, while Candida albicans infections are more common in non-tumor patients.
