How to treat vascular cysts? Laser surgery is worth a try

Vascular cysts are also a common disease, and if not treated in time, they may cause other more serious symptoms, so they should be taken seriously. How should vascular cysts be treated? Can medications be used? Relevant experts believe that laser therapy can actually be tried for vascular cysts.

Laser Surgery

1. Smaller skin cysts

Generally, for cysts less than 1 cm, after local injection of lidocaine anesthetic, a 0.3 mm small hole is made at the weakest part of the cyst surface with Nd:YAG, the cyst is squeezed, the dissolved material is discharged, and a mosquito forceps (one curved and one straight) is used to enter the cyst wall inside the cavity incision, and another small curved hemostatic forceps is used to gradually perform blunt peeling outside the cyst wall. After peeling, it is completely removed through the incision. If it is inconvenient to separate the cyst wall after most of it is peeled off, part of the cyst wall can be removed first, and then the unfinished part can be bluntly peeled. After the operation, it can be appropriately bandaged with sterile gauze with pressure.

2. Large cysts

Regardless of the type, if the cyst is located subcutaneously, local injection of lidocaine anesthetic (1% to 2%) is performed without adrenaline. Sterile towels are applied for surgical excision. The incision is the same as the skin texture. For more severe protrusions, a fusiform incision is made. For example, a micro-incision is used on the face. The incision is made 0.5 cm with a scalpel. After the contents are removed, the cyst wall is separated and completely removed. For fusiform excision, CO2 laser (power 15W) or Nd:YAG laser knife (power 20W) is used to completely separate along the cyst wall and then suture the incision. Note that after the micro-incision excision of the cyst, multiple layers of gauze should be used for pressure dressing to avoid leaving dead space. The main advantage of this small incision is the face, so it has practical significance for beauty. Clinical practical surgical observation shows that patients recover very well after micro-incision excision. When the cyst is peeled off, if blunt separation is difficult, Nd:YAG quartz laser knife (power 10W) can be used for separation, which is relatively clean and neat with very little bleeding. Small incisions such as those less than 0.5cm do not need to be sutured, but can be closed with one stitch.
