How to take fluconazole to reduce side effects?

Fluconazole is an antibiotic drug and a good medicine for fungal infections. Fluconazole has a small number of side effects, the most obvious of which are headache and stomachache. People with epilepsy may experience fever and skin blisters. If the side effects are too obvious and the patient feels seriously unwell, treatment should be sought in time. Therefore, fluconazole should be taken half an hour after a meal.

Most side effects of fluconazole are mild and may include headache, stomach pain, heartburn and diarrhea. Some people may also have a bad taste in their mouth or a different taste in their food. Other effects include dizziness, rash, itching and vomiting. These side effects usually go away on their own, but if they persist or get worse, you should tell your doctor.

Some of the side effects of fluconazole are more severe, including flu-like symptoms, seizures, fever, and chills. Patients may also experience loss of appetite, pain on the upper right side of the stomach, and nausea. This medicine may also cause severe fatigue, weakness, or lack of energy. In addition, dark urine or clay-colored stools may also appear.

Other serious side effects of fluconazole can affect the skin and include blistering, peeling, rash, easy bruising or bleeding. Tell your doctor right away if you have these symptoms after taking the medicine. If you develop facial swelling, hives, or difficulty breathing, seek emergency treatment.

Fluconazole comes in tablet or liquid form. It is usually taken once daily, and the dose depends on the type of infection. Do not take more than the recommended dose, as an overdose can be harmful and cause hallucinations.

People with certain medical conditions should tell their doctor before starting fluconazole because of the greater risk. These include heart rhythm disorders, liver and kidney disease, long QT syndrome, and hereditary heart disease. People who are heavy drinkers, have immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS), and have any type of cancer should also tell their doctor about their health information. Also, fluconazole is not usually recommended for use by women who are pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning to become pregnant.
