The harm of holding urine is so serious. Don’t hold it in no matter how busy you are!

After urine is produced by the kidneys, it enters the bladder through the ureters. The kidneys produce urine continuously. When there is a certain amount of urine in the bladder, we will feel the urge to urinate, reminding us that it is time to urinate. However, if we hold our urine, the bladder will swell severely due to excessive urine, and the urine may flow back to the kidneys, causing some harm.

Once urine is retained in the bladder for a long time, it can easily lead to acute cystitis.

In addition, the upper urinary tract is generally sterile. When holding urine causes urine to flow backward, bacteria from the lower urinary tract will be brought into the kidneys, causing a retrograde infection, such as pyelonephritis, etc. This hazard is much greater than cystitis and is relatively troublesome to treat.

The bladder is like a balloon. When the bladder is empty, the bladder wall is very thick. As the bladder is filled with urine, the bladder wall becomes thinner. After holding urine, the thickness may be only a few millimeters, which is very fragile. If you encounter a car accident or other external impact, it may cause the bladder to rupture.

Holding urine for a long time can cause the bladder's "switch" to fail, making you easily fatigued.

When you need to urinate, it "cannot open" and urination becomes difficult. Especially for patients with prostatic hypertrophy, holding urine can easily induce urinary retention. Once it occurs, you can only go to the hospital for catheterization.

Although there is currently no direct evidence to prove that holding urine can cause tumors, long-term holding urine will cause the metabolic waste in the urine to irritate the bladder mucosa for a long time, and the incidence of tumors may increase over time.

Suggestion: From now on, you must urinate on time.
