Can warts grow on the glans penis?

The glans is a very critical part of the male penis. Once there is a problem with the glans, it will often make people very distressed. After all, the glans is a very private place. When the glans is not healthy, it often makes people feel embarrassed to make love with their partner, and the fear of being blamed is actually very common. Can hygroma grow on the glans?

The main complaints of male patients may include itching, bleeding after external friction, and a foul odor after secondary infection of large warts. Condyloma acuminatum in the urethra is usually asymptomatic, but brittle lesions can cause hematuria, and very large warts can cause urinary tract obstruction. Common clinical lesions include papules, keratotic plaques, and papillary or cauliflower-like growths, which are scattered or fused, and the same patient often has multiple manifestations.

The color ranges from pink to grayish white, depending on the filling state of a single papillary capillary. They vary in size and are mostly soft in texture. The common sites are the coronal sulcus, foreskin, glans penis, frenulum, urethral orifice, penile body, perianal area and scrotum. Papillary or cauliflower-like warts mainly occur in moist areas, such as the foreskin cavity, urethral orifice and perianal area. Round papular warts are mainly located in dry areas, such as the penis shaft and hairy perineum. The color may be skin-colored or pigmented. Flat keratinized plaque warts are pedunculated, with a rough surface, slightly higher than the skin surface, and with varying degrees of pigmentation. Some scholars have suggested that obvious brown or gray pigmentation indicates dyskeratosis and a biopsy should be performed. There have been 13 reports of bladder condylar warts, most of which were accompanied by urethral damage, and some patients were related to the use of immunosuppressants.

Female lesions often involve multiple sites in all squamous epithelial-covered areas from the cervix to the anus, presenting as multicentric lesions. In severe cases, the uterine cavity may be involved. Cervical warts mostly occur in the cervical transition zone, single or multiple, and may fuse. They are somewhat similar to papillary epithelial hyperplasia, but regular loops can be seen under the translucent epithelium. A colposcope with a magnifying glass can reveal that about 1/3 of women with vulvar warts have vaginal warts. Vaginal warts are often multiple, mostly found in the upper 1/3 and lower 1/3 of the vagina.

Warm reminder: Warts can grow on the glans penis, and not only on the glans penis. Some serious patients have all condyloma acuminatum on their penis, and even cauliflower-shaped warts. So it is recommended that when you find that warts grow on the glans penis, you should pay attention to it and actively treat the condyloma acuminatum.
