What is male mumps? I think most girls don't know about it, because it is a disease unique to men, so girls naturally don't know about it. Some people may ask, what should I do if I have male mumps? I think, in addition to paying attention to cleanliness, the most important thing is to go to a regular hospital for consultation. After all, this is a disease and needs treatment. Because it is an inflammation, it is not enough to rely solely on your own immunity! 1. Purulent parotitis It is usually unilateral, and bilateral involvement is rare. In the early stage of inflammation, symptoms are mild or not obvious, with mild pain, swelling, and tenderness in the parotid area. The catheter opening is slightly red, swollen, and painful. As the disease progresses, fever, chills, and unilateral parotid pain and swelling may occur. The parotid gland and the surface skin are locally red, swollen, hot, and painful. When the lesion enters the purulent stage, squeezing the parotid gland can see pus flowing out of the catheter opening. 2. Mumps The most common viral mumps is epidemic mumps. Epidemic mumps is a contagious disease, the source of infection is patients and latently infected persons, and the route of transmission is respiratory droplets and close contact. The clinical onset is acute, and there are often prodromal symptoms such as fever, headache, and poor appetite. After a few hours to 1-2 days, the body temperature may rise to above 39°C, and salivary glands will swell. The parotid gland is most often affected. The swelling is generally centered on the earlobe, developing forward, backward, and downward, with unclear edges and mild tenderness. The pain worsens when chewing with the mouth open and eating acidic foods. The local skin is hot, tense and shiny but mostly not red. Usually, the swelling of one side of the parotid gland will affect the opposite side 2-4 days after the swelling of one side. The submandibular gland or sublingual gland may also be affected. When the sublingual gland is enlarged, the tongue and neck may be swollen, and swallowing may be difficult. The parotid duct opening may be red and swollen in the early stage, which is helpful for diagnosis. Atypical cases may never have parotid swelling, but may present with symptoms of simple orchitis or meningoencephalitis. There are also cases where only the submandibular gland or sublingual gland is swollen. 3. Autoimmune mumps It is more common in chronic autoimmune diseases, such as Sjögren's syndrome and IgG4-related diseases. In addition to recurrent parotid gland enlargement, other glands, joints, and organs are also involved and damaged. If you have mumps, what do I suggest? You should drink more water and try not to eat unclean food that can easily cause internal heat. Also, you should pay attention to cleanliness because mumps is an inflammation, which is what I usually call inflammation. Since it is an inflammation, you should know how to prevent it from getting worse, right? |
