What causes hardened testicles? Is it serious?

The testicle is one of the most important organs in the male reproductive system. It can promote male reproductive vitality and enhance sperm activity. If a man has hardened testicles, he needs to identify the cause in time. If it is caused by testicular atrophy, the testicle volume will be significantly reduced. Male patients can go to the hospital for examination and treatment in time.

Suspected testicular mass, solid mass with pain is mostly inflammation, while painless mass may be tumor or tuberculosis. Painful mass outside the testicle may be epididymitis. Painless mass outside the testicle may be tuberculous epididymitis or adenomatous tumor; painful mass in the testicle may be orchitis or testicular torsion, and painless mass may be testicular tumor. It is best to go to the hospital for a clear diagnosis to facilitate symptomatic treatment.

Normally, the epididymis is soft. If there has been inflammation (mostly chronic and latent, often not felt by the patient), it will become hard. Most people do not feel any discomfort, but a few may experience slight swelling and discomfort, which is only discovered by chance. If there is no discomfort, you don't need to worry about it; if it is very hard, irregular and growing rapidly, it is recommended to go to a regular hospital for treatment in the men's or urology department.

The testicles generally do not become hard when the penis is erect. The "lower end of the testicle" you mentioned may be the epididymis. Normally, the epididymis is soft. If there has been inflammation (mostly chronic and latent, and the patient often cannot feel it), it will become hard. Most people do not feel any discomfort, and a few have slight swelling and discomfort, which is only discovered by chance. If there is no discomfort, there is no need to worry; if it is very hard, irregular and growing rapidly, it is recommended to go to the andrology or urology department of a regular hospital for diagnosis and treatment.

Testicular hardening is an abnormal male disease, so it needs to be treated in time. Otherwise, it is easy to cause penile and testicular tumors in men, which will affect men's reproductive health, and may also cause sexual dysfunction, sexual disharmony and other problems. Therefore, timely diagnosis and treatment are needed. Men's reproductive health requires the joint care of both husband and wife.
