What is bacterial prostatitis?

With the continuous development of society, people's living standards are also constantly improving, but people's physical quality is constantly declining. There are many people who suffer from bacterial prostatitis due to long-term sitting in front of the computer. The consequences of suffering from this disease will bring a lot of troubles and troubles. So how can we prevent such diseases? What should we do if we get it? Let's find out together.

1. Acute bacterial prostatitis

The main pathogenic factor of bacterial prostatitis is Escherichia coli, followed by Staphylococcus aureus, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Proteus, Pseudomonas, etc. Most of them are caused by a single pathogen. Bacteria or other pathogens infect the prostate and grow rapidly and proliferate, mostly through bloodstream infection or retrograde infection through the urethra.

2. Chronic bacterial prostatitis

The main pathogenic factor is retrograde infection of pathogens, mainly Staphylococcus, followed by Escherichia coli, Corynebacterium and Enterococcus, etc. Prostatic stones and urine reflux may be important reasons for the persistence of pathogens and recurrence of infection.

3. Factors that induce prostatitis

The main causes of prostatitis include: smoking, drinking, spicy food addiction, inappropriate sexual activities, long-term congestion of the prostate caused by sitting for a long time and long-term chronic compression of the pelvic floor muscles, cold, fatigue, etc., which lead to decreased body resistance or special physical constitution.

Clinical manifestations

1. Acute bacterial prostatitis

The disease occurs suddenly, with chills and high fever, accompanied by frequent urination, urgency, pain and perineal pain. Dysuria or acute urinary retention occurs. Rectal examination shows that the prostate is swollen and full, with obvious tenderness, local temperature rise, and abscess formation with a fluctuating feeling. Acute pyelonephritis may occur at the same time as bloodstream infection.

2. Chronic bacterial prostatitis

Chronic bacterial prostatitis has recurrent lower urinary tract infection symptoms, such as frequent urination, urgency, pain, burning sensation during urination, dysuria, urinary retention, and swelling and discomfort in the posterior urethra, anus and perineum. The duration is more than 3 months.

Check

1. Regular examination of prostate massage fluid (EPS)

In normal EPS, the number of white blood cells is <10 and >10/HP, and the number of lecithin bodies is reduced, which is of diagnostic significance.

2. Routine urine analysis and urine sediment examination

Routine urine analysis and urine sediment examination are auxiliary methods to exclude urinary tract infection and diagnose prostatitis.

3. Bacteriological examination

The "two cups method" or "four cups method" pathogen localization test is recommended for chronic prostatitis.

4. Other pathogen examinations

Includes testing for Chlamydia trachomatis and Mycoplasma.

5. Other laboratory tests

Prostatitis may cause abnormal semen quality, such as leukocytosis, semen liquefaction, hematospermia, and decreased sperm quality. In some cases of chronic prostatitis, PSA may also be elevated. Urine cytology is valuable in distinguishing bladder carcinoma in situ.

Normally when we watch TV, we will find many advertisements about bacterial prostatitis. Most of them talk about frequent urination, urgent urination and incomplete urination. However, this is only one of the more common but not serious conditions. It can be seen that bacterial prostatitis brings not only physiological reactions, but also psychological ones. Once a person is sick, his body will be worse than before and his mood will be extremely low. Therefore, you should keep a good mood at all times.
