How to detect prostatitis

How to detect prostatitis

Men are under great pressure in life, such as work pressure, family pressure, etc., and as men age, their physical fitness will deteriorate. Many men will suffer from prostatitis after middle age, but there are not many early symptoms of the disease, and the symptoms of the body cannot be used to diagnose the disease. After the patient finds that the body is abnormal, he can make a preliminary diagnosis of the disease and then go to the hospital for examination to diagnose the disease. So how to detect prostatitis? There are many ways to check, including:

1. Physical examination

A digital rectal examination is very important in the diagnosis of prostatitis and helps identify perineal, rectal, neurologic, or other prostate diseases.

Type I: Physical examination may reveal tenderness and discomfort above the pubis. In patients with urinary retention, a bulging bladder above the pubis may be palpated. Rectal examination may reveal enlarged, tender, locally elevated temperature, and irregular shape of the prostate. Prostate massage is contraindicated.

Type II and Type III: Rectal examination can reveal the size, texture, presence of nodules, tenderness and its range and degree of the prostate, the tightness of the pelvic floor muscles, tenderness of the pelvic wall, and massage of the prostate to obtain prostatic fluid.

2. Laboratory inspection

(1) Routine examination of prostate massage fluid (EPS): In normal EPS, the number of white blood cells is less than 10/HP, the lecithin bodies are evenly distributed throughout the visual field, the pH is 6.3-6.5, and red blood cells and epithelial cells are absent or occasionally seen. When the number of white blood cells is greater than 10/HP and the number of lecithin bodies decreases, it has diagnostic significance.

(2) Routine urine analysis and urine sediment examination: Routine urine analysis and urine sediment examination are auxiliary methods for excluding urinary tract infection and diagnosing prostatitis.

(3) Bacteriological examination

1) Type I: Midstream urine staining microscopy, bacterial culture and drug sensitivity test, as well as blood culture and drug sensitivity test should be performed.

2) Chronic prostatitis (type II and III): The “two cups method” or “four cups method” pathogen localization test is recommended.

(4) Other pathogen tests: including Chlamydia trachomatis and Mycoplasma tests.

3. Equipment inspection

(1) Ultrasound: Although B-ultrasound examination of patients with prostatitis can reveal uneven prostate echo, prostate stones or calcification, and dilation of the venous clusters around the prostate, there is still a lack of specific manifestations of B-ultrasound diagnosis of prostatitis, and it is also impossible to use B-ultrasound to classify prostatitis.

(2) Urodynamics: ① Urine flow rate. Uroflow rate test can give a general understanding of the patient's urination condition, which is helpful for distinguishing between prostatitis and diseases related to urination disorders; ② Urodynamic test can detect bladder and urethral dysfunction.

(3) CT and MRI have potential application value in identifying lesions of pelvic organs such as the seminal vesicle and ejaculatory duct, but their diagnostic value for prostatitis itself remains unclear.

How to detect prostatitis? To confirm the disease, a formal instrument examination must be performed. After the examination, the doctor will make a comprehensive judgment. It is necessary to combine the diagnostic basis and distinguish it from some similar diseases to avoid misdiagnosis of the disease. Now prostatitis is a very complicated disease. In the eyes of many patients, this disease is difficult to cure and causes a lot of damage to the body. In fact, this view is wrong. As long as the patient persists in treatment, it can be cured.
