Understanding Vasculation for Men

Understanding Vasculation for Men

Male sterilization is a permanent contraceptive method, and this method is only suitable for couples who do not want to have children. Some men want to have this operation, but they don't know much about it. So today, let's ask authoritative experts to take a closer look at male sterilization. Male sterilization is the most common means of family planning in China. In many places in China, forced sterilization is still used. Male sterilization is actually a physical method of tying the vas deferens to prevent sperm from entering the female vagina. Therefore, male sterilization does not have much effect on the testicles or other reproductive organs. Men can still ejaculate normally, but without sperm.

Surgical method

1. Disinfect the surgical field three times with warm 0.1% benzalkonium bromide solution (1:1000 new gentian solution) and lay a towel over the hole. Use the thumb and middle finger of your left hand to find the vas deferens in the front and outside of the scrotum, and squeeze it under the skin. Feel and pinch the tough vas deferens. Apply local anesthesia to the skin where the vas deferens is fixed, and push the medicine while inserting the needle to diffuse the liquid from the skin to the surrounding of the vas deferens.

2. Use a small sharp knife to make a small incision at the local anesthesia needle hole. The incision length should not exceed 0.4 cm. Use the separation clamp to fix the vas deferens directly to the vas deferens and slightly separate it along the longitudinal axis of the vas deferens. Then extend the vas deferens fixation clamp into the incision to clamp the vas deferens and pull it out of the incision.

3. Use mosquito forceps to separate the tunica vaginalis and blood vessels of the vas deferens. After freeing the vas deferens 1-1.5 cm, use two mosquito hemostatic forceps to clamp the vas deferens at the upper and lower separated sections, and then remove the fixing forceps.

4. Cut and ligate the free part of the vas deferens. After twisting it with a hemostatic forceps, use No. 1 silk thread to ligate both ends with a distance of 1.5 cm. Lift the ligature and cut off about 1 cm of the vas deferens. Check for bleeding, cut the ligature, separate the separated broken end from the distal end with the spermatic cord fascia, and then put it into the skin wound. Carefully stop the bleeding. The skin wound does not need to be sutured, but the skin edges must be aligned.

5. Treat the other side of the vas deferens in the same way. After the operation, cover the wound with sterile gauze and fix it with tape.

Notes

1. Provide preoperative consultation and relieve concerns;

2. If there are small purple patches around the scrotal incision after surgery, there is no need to seek medical attention. However, if the scrotum is swollen and the skin is gradually purple or bleeding, you should seek medical attention immediately.

3. No sexual intercourse within two weeks after the operation, pay attention to rest, avoid heavy physical labor and strenuous exercise;

4. Contraception needs to be continued for 3 months after the operation.

Male vasectomy is simpler, more convenient, safer and more reliable. Those who think that male sterilization will seriously damage the vitality and that a family cannot exist without the support of a "man" are wrong. At present, most female sterilizations in our country are due to this idea, not because female sterilization is better than male sterilization. Therefore, we must establish a scientific viewpoint and promote male sterilization.

First, vasectomy is simple. It is located under the skin of the scrotum, superficially, and easily hooked, with a low chance of accidental ligation. Furthermore, there are no important organs, blood vessels, or nerves next to the vas deferens, so it is not easy to be accidentally injured. In addition, the incision is small, does not enter the abdominal cavity, does not cause obvious pain or bleeding, and requires few or no stitches. After the operation, you can rest for an hour and go home, and you can go back to work as usual two days later.

Secondly, there are no sequelae after vasectomy, and it does not affect physical strength and sexual function; at the same time, men are generally open-minded, straightforward, and not suspicious or worried, so the psychological factors are less affected than women. However, in terms of the current national conditions in my country, male sterilization must be carried out when the couple fully understands the principles and processes of the operation and is completely voluntary. Otherwise, it will cause greater psychological pressure.

Male sterilization has little impact on men, so for the majority of couples who want to conduct safe contraception, male sterilization is also a better method. However, it should be noted that both men and women cannot reproduce normally after sterilization, so this method can be used for married people with children, but it is not suitable for people who do not have children.
