Management of common complications of Shanghuan circumcision

For male friends, the most worrying problem is the foreskin is too long, because it will seriously affect the life of the couple. 1. Postoperative pain. After the effect of the postoperative anesthetic wears off, the patient will feel pain, which is most obvious within 4 to 6 days after the operation. To relieve the patient's pain, oral non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs can be taken for analgesia under the guidance of a doctor after the operation, such as taking 500 mg of compound aminopyrine phenacetin tablets every 6 hours for at least one day. Penile erection at night after the operation may also cause pain, which can be relieved by local cold compress.

2. The business ring falls off prematurely. You should go to the hospital immediately to remove the business ring and actively prevent wound infection and bleeding. Generally, no special treatment is required.

3. Foreskin edema. Foreskin edema is the most common complication of Shanghuan circumcision. It usually occurs after the removal of the ring. Since edema will gradually subside over time, conservative treatment is sufficient.

4. Penile skin injury. It is rare in clinical practice. It is mostly caused by improper surgical operation, which causes the penile skin to be pinched between the inner and outer rings. Generally, no special treatment is required and the injury can heal on its own.

5. Bleeding from the foreskin wound. If the foreskin wound is split without bleeding, or the split is less than 1 cm, no suture is required; if the wound is split with active bleeding, or the split is more than 1 cm, the opening should be sutured intermittently.

6. Infection of foreskin wound. If the wound is infected, the patient can take oral antibiotics for treatment under the guidance of a doctor and increase the frequency of dressing changes. Keeping the wound clean and dry after surgery can reduce the incidence of infection.

Edema is caused by the fact that the capillaries in the skin of the inner and outer layers of the foreskin are being repaired, the microcirculation is not yet fully conducted, and the lymph fluid is blocked and cannot flow back out, causing pressure accumulation. As time goes by, after the microcirculation is restored to normal, the edema will gradually decrease. Edema is directly related to the speed of skin microcirculation repair for each person. The time it takes for each person to subside is different, which is related to postoperative care. Mild edema will subside quickly. If the edema is more than 2cm, you can go to the hospital and let the doctor help drain and eliminate the swelling.

It is normal for male friends to have some complications after the circumcision, but for the sake of health, male friends must take good care of themselves. During this period, they should abstain from sex to avoid new problems after the surgery, which will increase our pain.
