Is it necessary for boys to get the HPV vaccine?

HPV vaccine is a vaccine that can prevent human papillomavirus (HPV) infection. Studies have shown that 99% of cervical cancer in women can be detected by HPV infection. "If women can be injected with HPV vaccine before their first sexual intercourse, the incidence of cervical cancer and precancerous lesions will be reduced by 90%." Is it necessary for boys to get HPV vaccine?

However, many people think that the "cervical cancer vaccine" is a vaccine specifically for women and has nothing to do with men because of its nickname. In fact, this name is wrong.

Now the question is, since men don’t have a uterus, is it necessary for them to get the “cervical cancer vaccine”?

In fact, HPV (human papillomavirus) is a spherical DNA virus with more than 100 different subtypes, which are divided into high-risk and low-risk types according to risk factors. It mainly invades two areas of the body, the skin and mucous membranes. It can cause proliferation of the squamous epithelium of the skin and mucous membranes of the body, mainly manifested as common warts, genital warts (the aforementioned condyloma acuminatum) and other symptoms, and may also cause anal cancer or penile cancer. Therefore, in addition to providing safety protection against cervical cancer, HPV vaccines can also reduce the risk of this disease.

For men, other diseases seem unfamiliar, such as anal cancer and penile cancer. However, there is a disease that is "well known" to men, that is - genital warts!

Condylomatae are caused by human papillomavirus (HPV) infection. Typical condylomatae often occur around the genitals and anus. For men, they are often found on the foreskin, frenulum, coronal sulcus, glans penis, urethral opening, male genital body, anus, duodenum and scrotum. Of course, some cases can also occur in places other than the genitals and anus. If you have oral sex, you are likely to grow "cauliflower" in your mouth. In addition, condylomatae can also occur in places such as the armpits and breasts.
