What are the symptoms of glans infection?

Many diseases are caused by sexual contact. What are the symptoms of glans infection? Usually, male glans infection is caused by female gynecological diseases. If it is trichomonal glansitis, there may be rashes on the glans, and severe erosions may occur. If it is candida infection, there may be erythema and peeling. Let's learn more about it in detail.

1. Trichomonal glansitis: It is mainly caused by Trichomonas infection. When suffering from trichomonas glansitis, papules or erythema may appear on the patient's glans, and the area of the papules may slowly expand. In severe cases, the erythema may form an erosive surface, resulting in swelling and pain.

2. Amebic guanitis: This type of guanitis occurs mainly due to the loss of the barrier function of the epithelium, which makes it easy to cause ameba infection. The infection can lead to erosion and shallow ulcers of the glans penis, obvious tissue necrosis, and pain.

3. Candidal glansitis: It is caused by Candida infection, which can cause erythema on the glans, a smooth surface, and desquamation around it. There will also be scattered small papules or small pustules, which can expand to the surrounding areas. In the acute stage, edema, erythema, erosion, and exudation may occur.

4. Acute superficial glansitis: Edema and erythema may appear on the glans. As the disease worsens, erosion, exudation and bleeding may occur. In severe cases, blisters may occur. If secondary infection occurs, ulcers may form, covered with purulent exudates. Patients may feel pain and tenderness, and may have mild systemic symptoms such as fatigue, weakness, and low fever.

5. Annular ulcerated glans: Annular erythema may appear on the glans, and the erythema may directly form a superficial ulcer.

6. Plasmocytic glansitis: Dark red-brown patches may appear on the glans, which are localized and infiltrative, with a smooth surface and small red spots or erosions. They bleed easily but will not form ulcers. In the superficial layer of the dermis, there may be band-like inflammatory cell infiltration, with a large number of plasma cells in the middle.

The above are some clinical symptoms of glans inflammation. Due to different pathogenic factors, the symptoms are also different. Therefore, when men suffer from glans inflammation, they should pay attention to distinguish its type according to its clinical symptoms, and then treat the symptoms. This will better relieve the symptoms of glans inflammation and avoid it from causing greater harm to themselves. It is recommended that patients with glans inflammation pay attention to reasonable treatment under the guidance of a doctor.
