Why do testicles hurt?

Testicular pain is also a common male disease. When testicular pain symptoms occur, many men do not find the cause in time, thus missing the best time for treatment. From a clinical medical perspective, the causes of testicular pain in men are also very complex, and the degree of testicular pain caused by each cause is different. In summary, there are several causes of testicular pain in men.

Why do men have testicular pain?

Why do men have this symptom? The most common phenomenon is inflammation of the testicles and epididymis. The following factors may cause enlarged and painful testicles.

1. Acute nonspecific orchitis

It often occurs in patients with urethritis, prostatitis, prostatic hyperplasia, and long-term indwelling catheters. The infection spreads to the epididymis through the lymph nodes or vas deferens, causing epididymal testitis. In severe cases, testicular abscess and testicular infarction may occur.

The diagnosis is mainly based on clinical symptoms such as high fever, chills, testicular pain, scrotal redness, edema, etc. After a small number of patients are cured, due to fibrosis and damage to the seminiferous tubules, testicular atrophy may occur, which will in turn affect the male reproductive function.

2. Chronic orchitis

It is usually caused by acute non-specific orchitis that is not treated in time, and may also be caused by infection with certain bacteria.

Pathologically, the testicles are enlarged or hardened and atrophied, the basement membrane of the seminiferous tubules undergoes hyaline degeneration and degeneration, and the spermatogenic epithelial cells disappear. There may be hardening around the seminiferous tubules, which is very likely to cause testicular atrophy, and thus also lead to male infertility.

3. Epididymitis

Epididymitis is usually caused by orchitis, or when the male's resistance is reduced, some pathogenic bacteria will take the opportunity to retrograde through the fallopian tube and invade the epididymis, causing inflammation. Therefore, epididymitis usually also causes urethritis, prostatitis, seminal vesiculitis and other diseases.
