Varicose veins of the scrotum

Varicose veins of the scrotum

Varicose veins in the scrotum are an obvious manifestation of varicocele. Varicose veins are also a disease that has a great impact on patients, because this disease has a great impact on the patient's genital health and sexual function. Of course, the treatment of varicocele is not a particularly difficult thing. Below, I will introduce the treatment methods of varicocele!

1. Treatment Guidelines

Treatment should be given based on whether the patient has infertility or abnormal semen quality, clinical symptoms, degree of varicose veins, and other complications. Treatment methods include general treatment, drug therapy, and surgical treatment.

2. Drug treatment

1. Drugs for varicocele

Aescin: Anti-inflammatory, anti-exudative, and protective of the collagen fibers of the venous wall. It can gradually restore the elasticity and contractile function of the venous wall, increase the venous blood return rate, and reduce venous pressure.

Flavonoids: Anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects, can increase venous tone, reduce capillary permeability, increase lymphatic return rate, reduce edema; improve the pain symptoms caused by clinical varicocele.

2. Drugs that improve symptoms

Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, such as ibuprofen, can be used to treat local pain and discomfort.

3. Drugs to improve semen quality

For patients with varicocele who have impaired reproductive function and desire to have children, drugs that promote spermatogenesis and improve semen treatment can be used.

3. Daily care

1. Don't wear tight underwear.

2. Maintain a positive and optimistic attitude and reduce tension.

3. Develop good hygiene habits, clean the foreskin and scrotum every day, and avoid wearing tight pants with poor breathability.

4. It is not advisable to ride a bicycle, drive a car, sit on the sofa, etc. for a long time.

4. Diet adjustment

1. Patients with varicocele should avoid eating spicy foods after surgery because these foods have a strong stimulating effect.

2. Patients should limit their sodium salt intake after surgery. Medical staff should instruct patients to eat a bland and easily digestible diet with a salt content of no more than 5g per day.
