Sperm abnormality rate 95%

Sperm abnormality rate 95%

Sperm deformity rate refers to the probability of the presence of deformed sperm in sperm. Generally speaking, the higher the sperm deformity rate, the greater the probability of male infertility. If the sperm deformity rate is 95%, then the probability of male pregnancy is relatively small. Of course, there are many reasons that lead to high sperm deformity rate. Below, we will introduce you to the relevant knowledge of sperm deformity in detail!

1. Overview

The causes of teratospermia include urogenital tract infection, orchitis complicated by mumps, epididymal tuberculosis, varicocele, etc.; the use of hormones or certain chemical drugs, such as anticancer drugs, reserpine, mylerin, furans, etc., can cause sperm immaturity; radiation exposure of the gonads can cause sperm mutations; long-term local high fever in the scrotum and long-term alcohol abuse (especially high-concentration strong liquor) can cause sperm abnormalities. If the abnormal sperm exceeds 70%, chromosome examination should be performed. If there is a chromosomal disease, treatment will be more difficult. When there is mycoplasma infection in semen (semen culture), sperm motility decreases, sperm density decreases, and abnormal sperm increases.

2. Causes

Abnormal sperm also exist in normal human semen, and the percentage is generally less than 30%. If the percentage of abnormal sperm is higher than 50%, it is called high abnormality sperm, which can lead to infertility.

The presence of a large number of deformed sperm in semen reflects testicular abnormalities; certain drugs such as furans can increase the rate of sperm deformity; varicocele can lead to an increase in deformed sperm, typically bicephalic sperm; in addition, some acute diseases and physical and mental factors can also have a pathogenic effect.

3. Treatment

According to the cause of sperm abnormality, the adverse factors (drugs, radiation, high temperature, alcohol, cigarettes, cosmetics, etc.) are eliminated and the cause is treated. If it is caused by reproductive tract infection, anti-inflammatory treatment can be carried out. If it is caused by endocrine abnormality, endocrine function adjustment is given. For patients with varicocele, surgical treatment should be considered.

If the sperm abnormality rate exceeds 70%, chromosome examination should be performed. If there is a chromosomal disease, treatment will be difficult.
