What is the sperm freezing process?

Nowadays, there are more and more couples who are infertile, which is related to people's physical health in daily life. Fortunately, medical technology is still quite advanced, so some other methods can be used to make the wife pregnant and have a healthy baby. In vitro fertilization is such a technology. So, what is the process of freezing sperm for men?

Applicable patients

1. Those who are receiving assisted reproductive treatment, those who have difficulty in sperm collection on the day of female ovulation or egg collection, or those who have fertility plans during the period of separation.

2. Patients with anejaculation can undergo non-invasive electrical stimulation sperm extraction combined with semen freezing, rather than direct testicular or epididymal puncture sperm extraction.

3. For patients with obstructive azoospermia, the epididymal fluid can be frozen at the same time as the diagnostic puncture to avoid repeated invasive operations.

4. Some patients with oligospermia and asthenozoospermia, especially those whose semen quantity and quality show a progressive decline, should take medicine to avoid the risk of azoospermia in the future.

5. Some couples who are planning to use vasectomy for contraception can freeze their semen before the vasectomy to increase the chances of future fertility.

6. People working in professions that may affect fertility.

Steps

Step 1: First, conduct infectious disease screening and other tests, including hepatitis B, hepatitis C, HIV, syphilis, gonorrhea, mycoplasma, chlamydia, liver function and blood type tests.

Step 2: If all the results are normal, a semen cryostasis experiment can be performed. Each male's semen tolerance to freezing is different, not to mention that the spermatogenesis of tumor patients may have been damaged by the tumor, and the sperm survival rate after semen cryostasis cannot be estimated. Therefore, cryostasis experiments are very necessary to help doctors predict the choice of future fertility methods.

Step 3: After successfully passing the above two stages, you will begin to collect frozen semen for future reproductive assistance.
