Testicular swelling and pain

Testicular swelling and pain

Testicular swelling and pain is a very common phenomenon in normal times. Most men have experienced similar symptoms. If testicular swelling and pain occur, if the pain is severe, you must seek medical attention immediately. The earlier the treatment, the less harm to the testicles. The testicles are more important reproductive organs for men. Once the testicles are abnormal, it will affect male fertility. Do not blindly take medicine for testicular swelling and pain, so as not to aggravate the condition.

Why do I have testicular swelling and pain?

In addition to possible causes of testicular pain, such as trauma or surgery, some reproductive diseases related to the testicles may also cause testicular pain to a certain extent. Once testicular abnormalities are found, they may directly affect sexual function and fertility. Therefore, it is best to go to a regular hospital to consult a professional doctor immediately. It is best to first check and diagnose the cause, and then treat it in a targeted manner to avoid missing the treatment opportunity.

Causes of testicular pain:

1. Scrotal skin injury

The reason why some men experience testicular pain is probably due to injuries to the scrotal skin, such as scratches, abrasions, or bruises caused by zippers. For example, bruises and hematomas on the scrotal skin can cause testicular pain in men, especially for patients with scrotal lacerations, when the testicles are exposed on the surface, the pain is more obvious.

2. Spermatocele

Testicular pain is caused by benign cysts in the testicles or epididymis. Many patients have cysts that are as big as sugar cubes. Many people call this the third testicle, but this is very rare. Although the pain is not obvious at this time, the benign cyst is like a round ball growing above your testicles.

3. Caused by orchitis

The so-called orchitis is a very common male disease for many men. Andrologists point out that the incidence of orchitis is 12% to 18%, and there are two types of orchitis: acute purulent orchitis and mumps orchitis. Generally speaking, the most common type is acute purulent orchitis. This type of orchitis usually develops more rapidly, accompanied by fever and chills, and one or both testicles will swell and become painful. The main manifestation of mumps orchitis is testicular swelling and pain, as well as redness, swelling, and fever.

Orchitis and epididymitis have some similarities, but the redness and heat of the testicles in orchitis is not as severe and intense as in epididymitis. At this time, you will obviously feel the enlargement of one or both testicles, and there will be pain when pressing. At the same time, the scrotal skin is also obviously red and swollen, and it feels hot to the touch.

4. Epididymitis

When it comes to the question of what causes testicular pain, epididymitis is one of the most common causes. The patient will experience a sudden high fever and elevated white blood cells, and the affected testicle will experience obvious swelling and pain accompanied by a sense of heaviness. When walking or standing, there will be pulling pain in the lower abdomen and groin, especially when walking for a long time, the pain will be more obvious.

The affected epididymis is enlarged and painful. When the inflammation is extensive, both the epididymis and testis are swollen, and the boundary between the testis and epididymis is unclear. We call this epididymitis. Male patients with epididymitis have red, swollen, hot and painful scrotums, which are sensitive to touch and have burning pain when urinating.

5. Testicular cancer

It can be said that testicular cancer is one of the most common cancers in young men. According to statistics, the incidence of testicular cancer in men is 7 in 100,000, and there is a trend of increasing year by year. The cause of testicular cancer is usually due to the metastasis of malignant tumors. Before the testicles become cancerous, there will often be unpredictable pain or scrotal swelling and discomfort. Therefore, male friends are reminded that they should seek medical attention immediately when testicular enlargement occurs.
