Why is there blood in urine after prostate surgery?

The prostate gland of men is actually a very important reproductive organ, just like the ovaries and uterus of women. If there is a problem with the prostate gland in daily life, it will have a great impact on men, and prostate diseases need to be treated when necessary. So the question is, if hematuria occurs after prostate surgery, what is going on?

(I) Causes of blood in urine

More than 95% of blood in urine is caused by urinary tract infection, among which glomerular disease, renal cysts and stones, prostatic hyperplasia, urinary tract infection and other diseases are the most common. Hemorrhagic cystitis, urinary tract stones, renal tuberculosis, renal tumors, kidney and urethral injuries may also cause blood in urine. Blood in urine is one of the main symptoms of the above diseases.

Causes of blood in urine:

1. If hematuria is accompanied by long-term frequent urination, urgency, and pain during urination, it is more likely to be renal tuberculosis;

2. If hematuria is accompanied by swelling of the eyelids, face or body, increased blood pressure and fever, it may be acute nephritis;

3. If hematuria is accompanied by severe urinary frequency, urgency, and pain, it is mostly acute cystitis;

4. If urination is not smooth and there is no pain in the urethra, but the urine is light red with the naked eye or a small amount of red blood cells are seen under a microscope, it is mostly a symptom of prostatitis;

5. Patients with hematuria and low back pain, sometimes with severe paroxysmal low back pain - renal colic, may be suffering from kidney or ureteral stones;

6. People over 40 years old with hematuria without obvious symptoms and pain may have urinary system tumors;

7. For patients with hematuria and low back pain that are obviously related to body position and daily activities, if the symptoms improve after bed rest and worsen after increased physical activity, the possibility of kidney ptosis is greater;

(II) Differential diagnosis of blood in urine:

1. When urination is bloody at first and then becomes normal, it is usually caused by urinary tract infection or urinary tract disease;

2. If urination starts normally but blood appears in the urine near the end, it is usually caused by cystitis and prostate disease;

3. If there is blood in the urine throughout the whole process and the blood is dark red, it is usually caused by kidney disease.
