Prostatic purulent discharge

Prostatic purulent discharge

For middle-aged and elderly men, the problem they fear most is prostate problems, because prostate problems not only have a great impact on men's urination, but also have a great impact on men's normal sexual ability. In addition, some serious prostate diseases can also lead to some phenomena that seem very serious, such as penile discharge. So what are the diseases that cause prostate discharge?

Is penile purulent discharge a sign of prostatitis?

What are the symptoms of prostatitis?

1. Acute bacterial prostatitis occurs suddenly, with chills and high fever, frequent urination, urgency, and pain. Dysuria or acute urinary retention may occur. Clinically, it is often accompanied by acute cystitis. The prostate is swollen, tender, and has a local temperature increase. The surface is smooth, and there is a feeling of fullness or fluctuation when abscesses are formed.

2. Chronic bacterial prostatitis has symptoms of frequent urination, urgent urination, painful urination, urethral discomfort or burning during urination. White secretions often flow out of the urethra after urination and defecation. Sometimes there may be blood in semen, perineal pain, sexual dysfunction, and mental and neurological symptoms. The prostate is full, enlarged, soft, and slightly tender. In patients with a long course of disease, the prostate shrinks, hardens, has an incomplete surface, and has small nodules.

3. The clinical manifestations of chronic nonbacterial prostatitis and prostatitis are similar to those of chronic bacterial prostatitis, but there is no history of recurrent urinary tract infection. The main symptoms are urinary tract irritation and dysuria, especially the manifestations of chronic pelvic pain syndrome. Mycoplasma and chlamydia can be cultured in the prostatic fluid of some patients.

Penile purulent discharge is not necessarily caused by prostatitis, so once penile purulent discharge occurs, it should be treated promptly.

What is penile discharge?

Penile purulent discharge may be fungal glansitis. The affected area will have erythema, swelling, fever, ulceration, exudation, and in severe cases, blisters and pustules may appear. Penile purulent discharge will cause burning and pain. In severe cases, patients will have fever, general weakness and other discomforts. If male fungal glansitis is not cured for a long time, the glans and foreskin will adhere to each other, forming secondary phimosis, and even leading to stenosis of the external urethral opening.

Trichomonas infection can also cause penile purulent discharge. It is usually caused by a spouse suffering from vaginal trichomoniasis. The symptoms are mild, mainly manifested as erythematous papules and small blisters on the glans. The borders are clear and the scope gradually expands. Patients often feel itchy. Trichomonas can be found in the secretions. In addition, there are some cases of glansitis whose causes are unclear, but excessive foreskin and smegma irritation are often related to the occurrence of glansitis. Therefore, men should also wash their lower body frequently, keep the area clean, avoid irritation, and seek timely treatment if penile purulent discharge occurs.

Generally speaking, penile purulent discharge can cause infection of the reproductive system, resulting in fungal urethritis or fungal glansitis. The treatment of male fungus is mainly aimed at these two diseases. Fungal glansitis is more common in young men between the ages of 20 and 50. Due to the vigorous secretion of sebaceous glands in young men, penile purulent discharge, damp vulva, wearing thicker underwear or insufficient cleaning of the vulva, male fungus treatment should also develop a healthy lifestyle. This is the only way to completely eliminate male fungus.
