What is penile denervation?

Surgical method

The surgery cuts off part of the sensory nerves, causing the sensitivity of the glans penis to decrease and the input of nerve impulses to decrease, thereby prolonging the time it takes for the nerves that control ejaculation to reach the excitement threshold.

After the penis is anesthetized, an incision is made on the back of the penis, and the skin, fascia and other tissues are cut in sequence. The dorsal penis nerve is dissected out, and several branches can be seen entering the glans penis. Several branches are cut off, and the fascia and skin are sutured. The stitches are removed one week after the operation, and sexual life can be resumed around one month.

Indications

This surgery requires strict control of indications and is only suitable for married patients with extremely sensitive penises and premature ejaculation. The patient must have already received long-term medication, psychological, and behavioral treatments with little effect. At the same time, professional measurements of the penis are required before the surgery, and then a comprehensive judgment is made after obtaining objective data. Specifically, the surgical object must meet the following conditions at the same time:

2. Married or with a fixed sexual partner, and having regular sexual life for >1 year;

3. Those with severe premature ejaculation;

4. No other organic factors;

5. Normal psychological quality;

6. Applying local anesthetic to the penis is effective
