In fact, the disease of candidal vaginitis does not show symptoms from the beginning. It takes a period of incubation before symptoms will occur. Most patients basically have no clinical symptoms, but there will be excessive vaginal secretions and sometimes vulvar itching. These are relatively common symptoms. When they occur, relevant examinations and treatments should be done immediately to control the disease and prevent it from worsening. Clinical manifestations 1. Bacterial vaginosis 10% to 40% of patients have no clinical symptoms. Those with symptoms mainly have increased vaginal discharge with a fishy odor, which is especially aggravated after sexual intercourse and may be accompanied by mild vulvar itching or burning sensation. Examination shows that the vaginal mucosa has no congestion or inflammation. The discharge is grayish white, uniform, thin, and often adheres to the vaginal wall, and can be easily wiped off the vaginal wall. 2. Candidal vaginitis (1) Vulvar itching, burning pain, and pain during sexual intercourse. (2) Frequent urination and painful urination. The characteristic of painful urination is that urine irritates the swollen vulva and vestibule during urination, causing pain. (3) Characteristic secretion: white, thick, and resembling curd or bean curd residue. (4) Vulvitis presents with map-like erythema, edema, and scratches. (5) Vaginitis may cause edema, erythema, and white membrane. 3. Trichomonas vaginitis (1) Characteristics of increased vaginal discharge: thin, purulent, yellow-green, foamy, and smelly. (2) Location of vulvar itching: vaginal opening and vulva. (3) If combined with urinary tract infection: frequent urination, urgency, pain, and sometimes hematuria. (4) Infertility: Trichomonas vaginalis can devour sperm, hinder the production of lactic acid, and affect its survival in the vagina. (5) Examination revealed: vaginal mucosal congestion with scattered bleeding spots, "strawberry-like" cervical fornix with a large amount of leucorrhea, gray-yellow, yellow-white thin liquid or yellow-green purulent secretions, often foamy. There were no abnormal changes in the vaginal mucosa of parasite carriers. 4. Senile vaginitis Increased vaginal discharge, vulvar itching, etc., are often accompanied by pain during sexual intercourse. It is a group of diseases that cause vulvar and vaginal symptoms such as itching, burning pain, irritation and abnormal discharge. The vagina of normal healthy women has a natural defense function against the invasion of pathogens due to the characteristics of anatomical tissue. For example, the vaginal opening is closed, the front and back walls of the vagina are tightly attached, the vaginal epithelial cells proliferate and the surface cells keratinize under the influence of estrogen, and the acidity and alkalinity of the vagina are balanced, so that the reproduction of pathogens that adapt to alkalinity is inhibited. The cervical mucus is alkaline. When the natural defense function of the vagina is destroyed, pathogens are easy to invade, leading to vaginitis. |
