What are the symptoms of mycoplasma infection in men

Mycoplasma infection in men is actually not uncommon, and these problems can seriously affect men's reproductive health, and can also lead to chronic prostatitis, affect the quality of men's sperm, interfere with sperm activity, or lead to an increase in sperm deformity.

Mycoplasma is a type of prokaryotic cell microorganism, with a size between bacteria and viruses. There are three types of mycoplasma that are pathogenic to humans, of which ureaplasma is a common pathogen of the human urogenital tract, and is associated with many urogenital tract infections, perinatal infections, and infertility, and is one of the pathogens of sexually transmitted diseases. After mycoplasma infection through the urethra, patients may experience symptoms of urethritis, and may develop chronic prostatitis. When examining prostatic fluid, active, swimming microbial communities can be seen. Mycoplasma also continues to infect the seminal tract, seminal vesicles, and testicles, affecting the quality of sperm and semen, causing infertility. It has been observed that mycoplasma can cause infertility through the following links.

1. Interference with sperm movement: Sperm movement is an important function of healthy sperm and an important indicator of whether sperm can conceive. Moreover, sperm movement must have a certain speed and frequency. After mycoplasma infects sperm, it often attaches to the head and tail of the sperm, making the entire sperm covered with attachments of varying sizes, causing the sperm to swim weakly and entangle with each other, leading to infertility.

2. Increased sperm deformity: Mycoplasma infection leads to increased sperm deformity, which is another characteristic of infertility. According to clinical observations, the sperm deformity rate in this type of infertile patients can sometimes be as high as 80%.

3. Destroy spermatogenic cells: There are a large number of spermatogenic cells in the seminiferous tubules of the testicles, which develop and reproduce to form sperm. When mycoplasma enters the seminiferous tubules of the testicles from the urethra, prostate and other parts, it will destroy the spermatogenic cells, causing the "sperm factory" to produce inferior products, leading to infertility. Therefore, infertile patients should pay attention to the examination of mycoplasma infection in order to clarify the cause and treat the symptoms.
