What are the symptoms of acute prostatitis?

Prostatitis can be divided into two types: acute and chronic. Generally speaking, acute prostatitis is more common in our lives. The main symptom of this disease is that the patient will experience urinary discomfort and sexual function will also be affected to a certain extent.

1. Discomfort when urinating: Patients with prostatitis will experience bladder irritation, often accompanied by symptoms such as frequent urination, painful urination, and burning sensation when urinating. In the morning, they will also find a lot of mucus secretions at the urethra, and sometimes they will experience symptoms such as difficulty urinating.

2. Physical discomfort: Prostatitis patients also have symptoms of physical discomfort. Some patients feel discomfort and swelling in the posterior urethra, perineum and anus. The swelling and pain are aggravated when squatting, defecating and sitting on a chair for a long time. Some patients will experience symptoms such as weakness and dizziness.

3. Sexual function: Prostatitis patients may also experience symptoms such as decreased libido, sometimes painful ejaculation, premature ejaculation, and difficulty in ejaculation. Prostatitis may also cause abnormal semen in patients, and may cause the semen to not liquefy.

4. Systemic symptoms: fatigue, weakness, anorexia, nausea, vomiting, high fever, chills, asthenia or septicemia. Systemic symptoms may mask local symptoms when the disease occurs suddenly.

5. Local symptoms: A feeling of heaviness and pressure in the perineum or suprapubic area, which worsens when sitting for a long time or defecating, and radiates to the waist, lower abdomen, back, thighs, etc.

6. Urinary tract symptoms: burning pain during urination, urgency, frequency, dribbling of urine, and purulent urethral discharge. Edema of the bladder neck can cause difficulty in urination, thinning or interrupted urine flow, and in severe cases, urine retention.

7. Rectal symptoms: distended rectum, urgent and painful defecation, and white discharge from the urethra during defecation.

8. Sexual symptoms: decreased libido, pain during sexual intercourse, impotence, and hematospermia.
