Side stitch is a common problem, mainly caused by improper breathing during exercise. When side stitch occurs, the human body will experience a throbbing pain reaction. What should we do when our waist is side stitched? First of all, don't panic, you can relieve this symptom through some simple methods.

1. Massage

1: Lie prone, and family members use both palms to massage and press on both sides of the spine from top to bottom, and then massage from the buttocks down to the muscles under the thighs and behind the calves. After massaging a few times, press the most obvious pain point with the thumb, starting from light and gradually increasing until you feel soreness and swelling, continue for 1-3 minutes, then slowly relax and reduce the pressure. After a short pause, repeat this 5-7 times, and then pinch the painful area with the tip of the thumb.

2. Bad luck

1: The patient and his family stand back to back, bend their elbows and wrap them around each other, then the family member lowers his head and bends over, carries the patient on his back, and gently shakes him left and right, while letting him kick his feet upwards, put him down after a while, and rest for a few minutes before doing it again. Generally, after carrying the patient on your back a few times, the back pain will gradually improve.

3. Waist rubbing method

1: Bend forward at the waist and rub your waist with your palms to generate heat for about 2 minutes.

4. Hot compress

1: Cover your waist with a thin cloth, apply a squeezed hot towel to the affected area, and then cover it with another soaked hot towel to keep the heat. Change it every 3 minutes, and continue the hot compress for 20-30 minutes each time. You can also wrap the fried salt or sand in a cloth bag for hot compress, but pay attention to the temperature that you can tolerate.

Five: Prescription treatment

1: Lumbar sprain is also called acute lumbar sprain. It is mostly caused by incorrect posture during activities, improper exertion, excessive weight-bearing or external impact. After a sprain, there is pain in the waist and limited vitality. The pain is obvious when coughing or moving. The muscles in the sprained area are tense and there is obvious tenderness. In addition to acupuncture, massage and physical therapy, you can also use the following prescriptions that have the effects of relaxing muscles, activating blood circulation and relieving pain.

2: 8-15 fresh ground worms. Usage: First wash the ground worms with warm water, mash them in a bowl to extract the juice, then drink it with white wine, 1-2 times a day. You can also use 4-6 dried ground worms, grind them into fine powder, and drink it with white wine.

3: Ginger and realgar in appropriate amounts. Usage: hollow out the ginger with a knife, put the finely ground realgar powder into the ginger, put it on a tile and dry it over fire, grind it into fine powder after it cools down, sprinkle it on the wound and pain relief ointment, apply it to the affected area, once a day.

4: 2 parts of white mustard seeds, 8 parts of yellow osmanthus seeds. Usage: Grind the two medicines into fine powder, mix well, mix with egg white to make a paste, apply to the affected area, once a day.

6. Squat method

1: Have the patient squat down, stretch his arms upwards, and face his palms together. Another person squats down and uses the thumb and middle finger of his right hand to press and knead the two points on the left and right sides of the most painful part of the patient's waist, making the patient feel pain but also comfortable. Then both of you stand up slowly at the same time, stand still for a while, and then squat down slowly. If you can sweat during this process, the effect will be better.

7: When a stitch in the side occurs, you can

Take a deep breath, hold your breath, pound your fists and hit the left and right sides of your chest from top to bottom, then exhale slowly and deeply; or after taking a deep breath, ask someone to pound their fists and hit your chest and back from top to bottom; or lie on the mattress in bed and roll repeatedly to make the pain slowly disappear; or stretch your waist in the opposite direction of the stitch and tap the stitch area, the symptoms will soon be relieved.
